hey guys i am not getting alot of response here and im thinking the rules might be to blame

the only respose i am getting are donation i solicate privatly

this is it:

tourney is $35 prepaid $45 at the door

9 ball
modified sigle elimination race to 5
no handicaps
magic racks will be used
alternating break format
world standardized rules apply

no consession rule all shots must be shot

SPORTSMANSHIP STRICTLY ENFORCED PLAYERS SHAKE HANDS BEFORE THE LAG AND CONGRADULATE THE WINNER - NO EXEPTIONS

payouts: ( based on # of entries )

1st 500
2nd 250
3rd 125

every body plays at least 2 matches

People just like to point out any kinda of flaw rather (that or they have poor reading and communaction) than answer the original question but hey.... Nobody is perfect :rolleyes: (EDIT: THIS POST WAS AIMED AT DOUBLE D)


I would definitely play in this!!! With alternate break and the payout it would be worth it!!!! I mean if you cash (pre-paid) in at third its almost 4 times the amount you invested!!!

Nothing pisses me off more than tourneys that pay you less than your entry fee. I mean what is the point??? Why bother giving me a little of my cash back :rolleyes:

the max is as many as possible all profits go to charity

hoping for 64

the place says a minamum if 32 is needed to get it for free

Yes, I would play, but usually matches don't get real tough UNTIL the 3rd round. I don't see the sense of going single elimination from double.

Decent payback for 32 players, but not for 64.
 
Depends on who you are trying to sell it to, a lot of amateur players seem to be unwilling to play in unhandicapped tournaments. Also depends on how many players get paid too. I would play.
 
If it were held on Bar boxes the amatures wouldnt complain AS much :rolleyes:

Scott...You DID read that the extra $$$ goes to a CHARITY didn't you?

To the OP...Why don't you just have a charity event...Pay no prizes...all entries go to the charity. I'm sure you could get a trophy company to donate 3 trophies. The bar would still make $$$ on food and drink. Lots of people are willing to play for a charity event.

Have you done up posters and stuck them in other pool rooms bathrooms?

Only a partial joke here, where I play they have upcoming tournaments, leagues, etc... on the walls in the pisser.

I'm sure anyplace would let you post this up, it's not like you are promoting another room, just a charity fundraiser. If you make a poster let me know, I'll print it out and stick it on some walls.

I don't like single elimination, but on the other hand, someone has to win, and anyone has the same chance as that guy (or girl), no matter what, it's all even.

Maybe make it races to 5, then races to 3 on the loser side. Should finish up about the same time as long as there were enough tables.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't catch what game you intend to play.

Anyway, I'm not sure how the rules would be a problem since you are using World Rules. Some guys don't care for alternate break but I don't mind in short race events.

Absolutely agree. Last two Charity ones I played in, payouts were advertised but everybody except one I believe gave the money back to the tournament organiser to add to the Charity's overall money.
 
My opinion is that I shake everyone's hand anyway, but to be told to do that I don't believe is proper, is there some kind of a penalty if you don't? This just invites those half arsed hand shakes where you just brush their hand and walk away saying things under your breath.

What can I say I'm a league player some people have to be told what a lag is every week
