Who is the architect of this shit show?

Came out of a closet after approx 35 years. Original owner worked for Brunswick back in the day and this was given to him as a gift from the company....

It is probably a Brunswick cue but I just thought I would post some pics to see if AZ could confirm that...

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I thought Palmer at first glance also, or maybe even Adams but when my friend told me the story behind the cue it seemed less likely that it was anything but a Brunswick cue...

Anyone out there know what kind of cues the Brunswick company gave as gifts to their employees back in the 70's???

I didn't think to take a pic of the bottom of the butt, with the bumper and with it removed, but I do remember that it had a screw keeping the bumper attached (not sure how much this helps :embarrassed2: )

I think the cue is a Gandy / National
Possibly made by Ricco Cervantes

Pics compliments of Mr. Dick Abbot

Whoa....sweet. looks like that may be it. Model HC-145. You have three dots on the forearm and the pic shows two I think...but otherwise the same.....

Nice.

Nearly exact, but there are definitely some differences. The joint collars are a bit smaller on the gandy. Also the joint on the vandy shows the SS split between the forearm and shaft, but not on the unknown. Possibly the same maker, or maybe a copy?

In this period mine are all flat except one slightly rounded but not pointed.

What's a ballpark value on a rich cue like this one and how do they play? There's an antiques "mall" that's got one, just wondering if I want it and if I should haggle for it.

I'm probably not the one to ask because I really like that model. It was the first cue I bought (It was 40 years ago) but I pay between 300 and 500 usually.

Ok cool, and is there a way to confirm that the one I'm looking into is actually a rich and not a copy?

That's definitely not one of them. Let's call it a low grade import and leave it there.

Yeah I thought so after a quick comparison. I did just skim through the pawn shop find thread an its amazing. I may have to start browsing through mine, lol. I'm finally found something to collect... :)
