Help with info about Sierra Custom Cues made by Eric Niemira?

Does anyone know what the price range was for Sierra Custom Cues made by Eric Niemira?

How much was one of their plane jane cues with a leather wrap for example?

I am asking because I am interested in buying one off a person here, and I am not sure how much the butt alone would be worth (because I would just be buying the butt).

Thanks.

iv'e only seen one in person. cue looked and played good though. as far as lesser known cue makers and their prices you can figure that out pretty easy. he can charge what he wants but honestly people will pay what they'll pay ya know

Thanks, but I would rather not bother a busy cue maker with my silly questions. I know most cue makers are really nice and friendly, but I am just too shy to call him up to ask about Eric. I am just curious if a plain looking Sierra butt (with no points or inlays) with a leather wrap would be worth $150? I am too poor to pay out more then a cue is worth, so if it would only be worth $100 at the most, then I would really like to know. I just do not know the prices that were paid for Sierra cues. Thanks.

I would ask Bryan Mordt BCM Cues. He worked with Eric N. for quite a while.

I think Sierra cues were going for $300 for fairly basic models. I remember that line. Don't think I have seen any sell used on here, but $150 for a Sierra with a leather wrap for is a good price.

Hey! My memory is 100% right LOL look here http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/sierra/Sierra-Custom-Cues.html

$300 for their basic model.

Also just found this thread on here http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=244686

I have several of his cues. Out here in Arizona his plain ones (with a shaft) will usually get $300ish.

His prices are in the Blue Book of Cues.

I would be all over it for $150. I've never found one that cheap. There is only a limited number of them out there and he does not make them anymore.

My brother recently picked one up in Chicago. Its wrapless, ivory joint, no inlays, 2 shafts for $500

I hear what your saying about contacting Cue Makers. Although, Bryan Mordt is as nice as they get and im sure a simple PM wont put him out.

Okay, but $150 is just for the butt end (not the shaft coming with it). Still a good deal? Thanks.

Hello there, I just happen to notice the thread title and thought I would chime in. I think that $150 is a VERY reasonable price for a Sierra butt provided that it is straight. Does it have the white and nickel silver slotted rings? If so then it has more value in my opinion, those rings were pretty labor intensive to make. We milled corian into very thin strips and used to it border a nickel silver center. If you happen to need a new shaft made with that original slotted ring just let know.

If you have any other questions I would happy to help.

Hi Bryan, thanks for adding your reply to my thread. I only have a picture of the cue, and not a really great one. I see what looks like slotted dash rings (if that is what they are called) near the stainless steel joint, but I can't tell if they are silver or not. Here is a picture of the cue (it is the 4th one down from the top). Maybe you could also confirm that it is a Sierra cue? If it is, then the date made would be under the rubber bumper, and say Sierra on it? Thanks for your help.

NOT a custom Sierra by Eric N.

Just before Eric stopped making cues, another company stole the name and started making cheap (price) production cues.

I'm sorry to tell you that it is not a genuine Sierra custom cue there. :( Breaknrun was correct.

Thanks for your reply, and thanks to the other person that also told me this. So it is a Sierra, but it is a cheaply made production version? Any idea what it is worth (just the butt)? This really saddens me, because I sent the money for the yesterday after I thought it was a good deal. They did tell me that it was a custom Sierra. Their exact words were "Made by Sierra custom", so I assumed that meant that it was a custom cue (not production). So maybe they did not know it was a production model. I am curious how to tell the difference? Thanks for your help.

there is a good possibility that since you just sent the money yesterday, you can cancel the deal.. if they didnt ship today (saturday) they wont be able to ship till tuesday because of the holliday... either they knowingly told you what they did to make you think that or maybe they did not know and in that case, they should not have any problem refunding your money because then it would have been an honest mistake...

hope for your sake you can cancell the deal and get your money back..

I just found a link to what looks like the same cue that is in the picture (but with a leather wrap added on to it).

http://www.cuesight.com/sicher.html

Very hard to believe that it has a $375 retail price, but I guess they can set their retail prices for however much they want. The site notes it as Sierra "Cherokee" Custom Pool Cue, but why do they say custom, when it is actually a production cue? I am curious if anyone knows if the Sierra production cues are made in the USA (or maybe Chinese imports like most production cues these days)? Thanks.

They can say pretty much whatever they want. The sad part is people knowingly lying about their products an then Falsely Advertised it as an Original an not the Chinese Repop Piece-of-Crap.

An the customer is just left holding the bag an effed.
