Help with Mottey Cue - AZ Style !! ! ! !! ! ! !!

Just a little update, while the shafts were being stripped and sanded, the was a blue marker used to color in a set of the "blue" blocks. They were a yellowish color....

For the life of me, I can not understand what you are trying to describe.

Perhaps photos or a sketch would help my ignorance.

BTW - I studied the forum and tried to leave you one of my few "greenies".
Seems like you maxed out the number of "greenies" you can get.

This thread is irrefutable evidence why you earned this status not only on this forum - but in life.

Here is a pic of the two shaft collars. One was yellow, sharpied to blue, the other was actually blue.

Thanks...

We have a special idea for the wrap also.. if it works like we think it will be the perfect wrap for this cue.

I met with the Westons today and they said congrats to all parties involved. I got to rib Skip that his son now has the highest selling Weston, excluding Perry, of all time. :)

That is to funny. Kinda like the guy who hits one home run, quits, and now states he batted a thousand, lol.

This has been a pleasure to deal with for sure.....

I love this thread.

This is the best of AZB.

I really look forward to how this cue comes out.

By the way, is that a really big buzz ring I see at the A joint? Could that be a clue to who made it?

.

Wow. Very humbling thread. Amazing story. Thanks for sharing out with us.

Thats a buzz ring. When its all finished I'll put a page up on the site and see if anyone comes out of the woodwork to claim the original cue as their own. I have one or two ideas but they are guesses.

Ba da da daaaaa...

The wrap is red white and blue spec linen.. This was achieved by running a double wrap around 180 degrees apart. one strand is white with red spec, white with blue spec...

I'll have the cue in a few days and have some more pics...

Hey Scooby.... a clue....

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=239260

I briefly forgot about this cue that Cornerstone had. It to had a faux Mottey signature and suprisingly similar to the one in this cue. Both cues were refinished by Jensen cues. I will assume for the most part that he was instructed that these cues were Motteys and he then installed the signature. Bills cue is not even close, so there was no mistaking that, however this cue "could" have been a Mottey based off of design.... I posted this cue on the site under Unknown cues...

JV

That would make sense seeing as both where refinished by Jensen..... one more little piece to the puzzle is put in place......
