Help with Palmer Cue ID

I recently purchased this cue and need some assitance ID'ing which model it is. I have searched on Palmercollector.com and cannot find a match. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a newer issue Palmer (Japan). I have the twin to it, I use it for a Break Cue.

Looks like a 3rd Catalog Model 11, but later Palmers are not my area of expertise.

This is a 1980's Palmer, probably made to be sold as stock in the shop. The butt uses parts from the Pete Margo Bullet series cues:

Mated with an import full splice forearm, probably made by Adam. It is a Palmer shop made cue however. That finish looks like it could be epoxy which Palmer used for awhile. The cue would probably look great refinished. Scot Sherbine can do it for $85.

Otherwise, not much value to the cue except as a decent player. Refinished maybe $300.

If you look at that Pete Margo Bullet Series flyer, virtually all the parts came from one of those cues or another. While Palmer outsourced the PB and PM lines to Adam, all the Bullet cues were made in the Palmer shop. Yours is actually a custom mix of these parts.

I originally thought it was a model 11 also but the wood is a little lighter than the 11. But it seems to be exactly identical to the model C with the exception of the butt. Thats what had me confused.

He's alive and well. I spoke to him some time ago and he was living on a lake in either New York or New Jersey. He loved George Balabushka and loved his cue, but I think he finally sold it.

He said his friends still thinks he plays well, but he said his game was nothing like it once was. Pete was a champion but how quickly we forget them. His work at Palmer helps keep his name alive in the billiards world. In fact, it was Pete Margo who gave Peter Balner the idea to get into the video store business. They jumped ship at Palmer in the 1980's and got rich in the video business while Ilona ran Palmer. Occasionally I will show Peter Balner a "Palmer" cue and he will be puzzled - some were made after he left and he doesn't recognize the designs.

Ilona Balner is doing well also last I heard, living in Arizona near Peter.

Its great that these guys got rich too. I mean for both the Balner's and Pete. They contributed much, and its nice that they finally got a reward.

Later on tonight when I get some time, I'll take a close up of this type of Bullet series butt and show it.

The model C 's almost all had titlist forearms and were made closer to 1970 as a Rambow style cue.

Here are some pics, joint and butt from Margo Bullet #3, points from Margo #7. The rings on your butt look a little thinner, but same idea. It's also entirely possible the OP cue was before the Margo series and the Margo incorporated a similar design.
