I just purchased this cue and got it in Friday. As with all Hercek's it is a perfectly constructed cue that hits really good, but just doesn't have the hit I am personally looking for.

$4100 shipped in Continental US or would consider trades for ??? cue plus cash. Also might trade up for the right cue.

I know. I was reallyl disappointed because I REALLLLY wanted to keep it as my player.

Just curious, could you qualify and describe what you were expecting and why you were disappointed? Herceks are always listed in the top 5 or 10 in the "best hitting cue" threads here on AZ.

Thanks

I have already had three PM asking this question. I have been shooting with Bender/Omega/Omen cues for the past few years and have gotten used to hitting with a pretty stiff cue, big pin flat faced joint. When I got the Hercek, I was hoping for a stiffer hit.

It hits really good for a soft hitting cue, but I guess that is not what I am really after. I have a Schick flat faced 3/8 X 10 block ivory joint, and it hit stiffer as well. I could probably have other shafts made and possibly move to a harder tip, but I don't want to start pouring money into it when I might be able to get something else I like "right out of the box".

Again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the cue structurally, aesthetically, etc., as Sean can also attest to. It just didn't do it for me.

If the cue was a bit heavier, I'd have started the trade negotiation.

It seems to be a bit hard to find a Hercek in 19.25oz+ range. Most of available Hercek are less than 19oz and that's too light for me.

Good luck!

I have the twin to this cue with the ivory buttcap, just purchased from Cornerstone. What kind of trades interest you? Any particular cue that sparks an interest?

Jazz,

Can't say I totally agree with that. Hercek's are full splice cues and tend toward the heavier side. I remember speaking with Joel via email about some cue ideas in the future. I told him I like playing with a lighter cue and Hercek recommended that I stick with ivory and delrin to keep his cues light. Steel joints and denser woods like ebony on ebony would make his cues heavy.

Weight is preference driven. I'm a smaller guy and playing with a heavy cue is like driving a bus for me. I'm sure vice versa, you get no feedback from a lighter cue and cue ball control would be an issue.

I'm not saying Hercek's cues are light .. it's just that most AVAILABLE Herceks I come across recently have been less than 19 ozs. I have seen some (especially Ebony one) that are more than 19oz but not for sale.

Ah, point taken. I for one, am very pleased with the availability of the lighter Herceks. Good luck in your search.

Bump to the top for new viewers. Thanks to all who have inquired/responded. I hope I have replied to all. A couple of real promising trades already!

Hercick

What's the weight. What kind of case does it come with. Two shafts?

Thanks, Tommyd1
