I have a working prototype for an invention. Two worldwide companys have allready said they would sell it if I build it. I have 1 month to make the finished product before the busy season starts and catalogs get printed.
I am stuck on the means $$$ to get from a working prototype to product. Does anybody out there want to blindly invest in my promise to make us money. I put my reputation behind this idea and will say I will never play pool again if it doesn't pay off more than is put in.
I am looking for someone to say "I trust your judgment here is a card" My product is very cheap for a wealthy man with a huge return and very long shelf life.
I am not looking for someone who likes to be hands on and would say "I don't know. I think...lets wait and ask my cousins sisters brother aunts friend billy bob if he can save me $2 by blah blah blah all talking and no play makes Jamison a dull boy"

Better get a patent...

...otherwise no one would be wise to invest in the product, including you. Without a patent, even if the product is a huge success you have no guarantee you'll see a dime. Just words of warning since I have no investment dollars to contribute.

If I get it out to market I'm fine. This is one small item lets just call it the first of 1000 items all being connected to this exact same one and that is just to much to patent for just about anyone. Esspecially worldwide being that this type of patent would cost into the 150,000 dollar range per item. I'm not to worried about that besides patents work on specs not ideas and this particular invention can be built thousands of ways so they can try to take the design all they want after it's started selling it's way to late.
 
The place to manufacture is China. I was just there in April for the Canton Fair. That is where the Chinese manufacturers display their wares & manufacturing abilities to the west.

I am looking for items to manufacture, but I am not intereseted in "blindly investing". This type of project requires a real contract and a real business plan.

I would also recommend a patent, and I can't imagine how it could cost $150K? The Chinese will probably copy it in the long run anyway, so whoever brands it and gets it to market first will make the most money.

I don't know what it is, but having a finished, packaged, and branded product in time for this Xmas season is probably unrealistic.

Hmmm... A small thing.. but the patent would cost 150,000? Last I heard of, patenting a new kind of eraser wouldn't cost 150,000. And he wants someone to jump in with both feet with money, but wants no careful consideration by the investor.

This reminds me of an Eminem song.
