Hey Grady, how did you do at 14.1 at the DC?C

The crickets are still chirping. I always find it so funny when someone talks a bunch of crap about how someone plays and then when they get asked to gamble they back down like a chump.

Your comment makes little or no sense. I am sure that if Grady is willing to bet $20k it must be considered pretty easy for him to run 125 in a two day span. I can't remember the last time I heard of him betting anything over $500. Now if he said, give me 5 tries for $20k that would be a different story. Just because someone throws out a gamble, if the other person doesnt take it, that doesnt make them a chump. That is the dumbest logic I have ever heard. LastTwo, I will bet you that Pittsburgh wins the Super Bowl, that grass is green and that this NYCdude has deeper pockets than you or Grady. Now, I suppose you are a chump if you dont take these 3 bets.

Players get older and their skills diminish even though pool isnt a quote physical sport. Grady has and still is great for the sport & was a great player. But if Charlie Williams or anyone else is of the opinion that he isnt the caliber anymore to be in an invitational tournament where they are putting up the money & organization then that is their decision. If someone wants to have a tournament & call it the Open or the Best of the Best or whatever they feel & invite whoever they want, then so be it. The word 'Open' is used in sporting events all the time but is not taken as literal as Grady would like. Can I go play in the US Open for golf or tennis simply because I want to pay an entry fee? In case you don't know the answer & can't realize this is a rhetorical question....the answer is no.

Backing down from what, who Grady?

Exactly what was I backing down from? I posted in the morning and didn't care to revisit the forum until this morning. It might be hard for some to understnad but this forum and it's contents aren't that important to me.

Furthermore, why would I ever place a wager for or against you Grady? In the scheme of things I view you as a hostile and embittered old man who can't come to grips with the fact your skills have diminished over the years.

Who cares if you can run 125 balls? I certainly do not. What would that change if you could? I mean do you really think that would change my opinion of you. I should reming you that YOU made this all personal by miscategorizing our discusion in your initial post, by stating in other words that I blew you off.

I had no personal beef with you before that. In fact I respected your PAST performances and influence on this game I love. You should take a long hard look in the mirror and see how you make situations harder for yourself. This isn't an isolated incident. You have a long history of whining when you don't get your way. I am responsible for your lack of conformity in todays game?

The ignorant people on this forum have stated that I should show you more respect. The fact remains that when you called me and demanded an ivitation to this event, I offerd you my unconditional respect. Because I couldn't give you an answer you wanted to hear (that I wasn't involved with the invitations) you felt compelled to come on here and flame me. Objective people see it for what it is Grady, just more and more sour grapes on your part. I have no interest in engaging you any on level, now or in the future.
I haven't the time nor the inclination to satisfy your machismo.

I wish you all the luck in the world Grady.

And in this way I thank you Grady. I dont know any other pro's putting on the kind of events that you do You have done so much. And in this I say walk away with dignity They dont want YOU Whatever reason it is They dont want YOU This was told to me after I was not promoted when I thought I had the most experience and certainly qualification

Like hundreds of union workers who have put in many years for Ford theyve just been let go. Like many who have lost their pensions who built a company but end up with nothing. Like the great Chita Rivera who was not cast in the film version of West Side Story, which she created and did for many years on Broadway, while Rita Moreno got the fame and money. Hey They dont want you. What can you do? Nothing but walk away and create your own opportunities like you have done in the past. Knowing that you are one of the tops in your field.

Putting aside the specifics of the Grady/Randy situation, this is one of the best posts I have read in some time.

I am so sorry to see you and your wife arguing on this open Forum.....

Shizzit, Tubby! You finally said something funny!

What in the world is the matter with you, Randy? That's an outright lie, that I demanded an invitation. I most certainly did not.You should be ashamed of yourself.
And Doug, you're right, my friend. I shouldn't be arguing, especially where no amount of fact or logic could ever get me anywhere. Thanks for your friendship and support.

Oh so we're ignorant because we ask you to show some respect? You are the one who lowered himself by creating this thread which reeks with immaturity. Trying to show up someone who has had some great high runs on tape no less at tough venues. What kind of question was "Hey Grady! How did you do at 14.1 at the DCC?". It was not a request for respect some of us were saying but asking you to show some class.

Ya knows, I'd kinda like to be 'round when some of these young fellas gets old like us old farts and see how damn well they like it.

Praise the Lord and pass the Viagra, Pel

Grady, I am not taking sides. Just listening to both sides. That being said, it seems pretty clear that you came on this board demanding an invitation. That would make it seem pretty credible that you contacted Randy/Charlie prior trying to do the same.

I've got an idea. How about Grady playing Charlie Williams for the spot CW has given himself in the tourney? Quick race to 150 or 200 to see if Grady is more qualified than CW.

Talk about a sweet grudge match. I'd buy the dvd if accu-stats taped it.

Cool Idea

Only, I don't think CW would give up the spot.
I know, however, I'd definitely buy an Accu-Stats tape with that match on it.
Maybe Grady calls him out with the $20,000 he was going to bet NYC dude.

I am thinking that Charlie should take the challenge! For the spot and for the $20k. Let's have a real show!! I will buy the Accu-Stat DVD also!

Buy the tape my ars, I would fly anywhere they hold such a match. Pay hotel, food and admission. I would take off work and go today if they got it on. $20,000 and the spot, holy crap!
Purdman:rolleyes:

BTW, Grady graciously gave us a 14.1 demo on the AZ table at the DCC, explaining everything going through his mind. I didn't catch the whole thing, but he definitely ran more than one rack, which makes his high run more than 7 as of late...
