Let me refresh your memory, whachnuts....YOU sent a PM to me when you were at the Atlanta airport after you were stranded from missing your flight by one full day. On that PM you also left your cell phone # and in a panic asked me to call you ASAP. You also sent a PM to another male member on here stating the same thing and you then tried hitting him up for money to pay the difference betweeen your original ticket and a new one on the next flight to Las Vegas. I assume that was the same reason you called me, but I didn't want to talk to you then or ever so I delayed calling. And then...like a total asshole...I DID CALL you at the airport and you told me the story of how you missed your flight by 24 hours. You DID NOT try hitting me up for money because I guess you got the problem solved some other way. But you DID SAY that you didn't have enough cash on you or even own a credit card. Funny how a working girl that's so self-sufficient doesn't have her own credit card. But the real kicker is, because I WAS AN ASSHOLE and called, YOU got my home phone number on your caller ID and kept calling ME, especially after I posted something on the forum that hurt your wittle feelings and showed what a lying hypocrite you really are. Yep...we did discuss at the time possibly meeting briefly on your return flight back into Atlanta just to see what we looked like and say hello...but I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER called you again to meet or anything else. I think I've made my stance with you here pretty clear and quite consistent. I don't know what you're reading into it, but I think others know where I'm coming from too. They also know where YOU'RE coming from...they don't need me too much for that. There are a whole bunch of smart people on here...but then again there are a whole bunch of dumb ones, especially the stupid males that you manipulate like little toys. But hey, I can't blame you so much on that...they enjoy it! Btw...I guarantee this won't be the last post addressed to me on this forum. What would you do without the attention???

Oh, for gods sake that didn't take long.

I didn't think it would take long for someone to chime in and say that it was all about censorship. And of course, we get another long diatribe from DM telling me how he is right and I am wrong.

I have already stated that I read the post and thought it was something that was going to get ugly in a hurry. I deleted it before that happened. Because that is my job around here. I get paid to be DM's babysitter and go in and clean up messes everytime he decides that he needs to interject his opinion on a thread. It doesn't matter that the thread has nothing to do with him. He goes ahead and hijacks the thread anyways. And why not? Anytime anyone here posts anything, it is really just a request for DM to interject his opinion.

It is funny. I am up getting my kids ready to go to school while I am typing this and listening to them argue is remarkably similar to dealing with DM on this forum. They have all the answers and need to take shots at thier brother/sister every chance they get. But then again, they are 11 and 8 years old.

It was requested at one time that I post a formal set of rules for the forum. I havn't done so because I really don't think a group of adults should need a set of rules to tell them how to behave like adults. But, I guess I will have to remind them a little...

This is the azBILLIARDS forum. If DM wants to start his own site and call it ihatemarissa.com and set up a forum, that is great and I wish him luck. Maybe I will interject my opinions about pool into every one of his thread. The next thread I see with someone hijacking a thread to take a potshot at someone will be the last post that person makes.

To reiterate something that has been said over and over, check the DNS record for this site. You will see the owner is Mike Howerton. That is me. Since that is me, I can delete any thread I want and if someone thinks it is censorship and doesn't like it, They have one recourse. That is to not come here anymore. I have seen what threads like the one I deleted can do to a site. Go check out playpool.com. That used to be a great site, but the forums got so far out of control with petty name calling that the owner stopped doing anything with the site at all. I will not let that happen to this site. I delete threads that I think are going down that road and I will continue to do so. If that makes you unhappy and you think it is censorship, then I am sorry you feel that way. If you can't deal with this sort of thing, I suggest you click on the 'logout' button at the top of the screen and then remove the site from your bookmarks.

We planned to meet before I left for Vegas. When I was stranded at the airport, yes someone had to help me pay for the ticket balance. Not someone from AZ, an ex who lives in Atlanta.

When I talked to someone else on this board (who I regularly talk to) while I was stuck, I told him what happened, including that it was taken care of. (I also told you the story and we had a good laugh.) I asked if they had time available to meet since I was in Atlanta until 5:30pm. (We have since met, and he is an absolute sweetie.) I also asked you, because you were another person in Atlanta I had been planning on meeting, also since you had asked before what time I was leaving (early in the AM) and you said you would have suggested meeting had my flight been later. Well, it looked like my flight was going to be a lot later. We talked after that, also. You have never hung up on me - you did tell me to call you back once because you were busy.

No, I don't have a credit card - I don't even use cheques - because I'm a compulsive shopper. Unless I absolutely need cash on me, I don't carry it. Especially in an airport, which has so many (glorious) stores. On the way back, I made the mistake of carrying a couple hundred (just in case - seeing how I screwed up en route to Vegas) and blew it before I reached the terminal - on purses, perfume, scented oils, linen spray... linen spray! I will buy stuff just to buy it! It is something I'm very, very bad at, and actually do not go into malls because of it.
 
I think that people forget that this is NOT a government owned web site. It is a PERSONAL web site belonging to Mike Howerton. Mike can just wake up one morning , come to the boards, see all the bickering and say, "I'm done" and pull the plug. He has no responsibility to keep this running for us. He makes little money if any for all the hours he puts in. Mike is a very good friend of mine, he does my web site and has been there for me for many years. I respect him and I owe him a great deal of gratitude.

We all have the privilege to be able to be a part of this, and it IS BY FAR the very BEST web site regarding pool... and other issues! I think that just about everyone contributes good conversation and are friendly. The problem being is that, there are so many personalities on this board that it is hard to stay away from controversy. I totally agree with DM regarding his remarks on Marissa, I choose not to call her sweet. But, as I have said, Mike knows... Honestly, he knows what's going on and he will direct the forum the way he sees fit. And, you know what? He can!

Does this software not provide you the capability/power to delete individual posts rather than being forced to delete entire threads? That would be a better answer sometimes.

Well said, it is your site to do with as you wish, assume you pay the bills, and have all the headaches. Think that is called pride of ownership.
 
Susan, yes I can delete individual messages but when a thread gets going and responses are posted quoting the negative posts then it gets to the point where I usually feel it is best to just delete the entire thread.

The thread in question was meant to thank Shawn for helping Marissa out. I am sure he knows now that she appreciated the help. Everything after that initial post was just mindless namecalling.
