I am still confused but if you are speaking of John Schmidt, I don't believe he is a Jr Player. Also, I don't believe that Purdman is still going to the DCC. I thought he stated that he doesn't want to be around Timberly or something like that. In fact, Justin most likely won't be there this year himself. But you are correct that it would have to be a matchup as John is definitely the better player.

Well Klopek, that is the way we settled it in the old days. Worked pretty well then . I did say 16 oz. gloved. That is the easy way to go. This whole thing has gone on long enough. I remember talking about a fight that was coming up on Pay-Per-View one time, and I was telling my friend that the boxer I liked was going to win because he had a 6-inch reach.

I meant his arms could reach 6 inches longer than his opponent's. My friend laughed long and hard, as did I when I realized what I had said.

Sides were drawn, I have no idea why, what that poster did was just ignorant and should have been sent to time out . No one should defend a bully.
Now the mean poster is trying to be funny and calling people out for fights?
This is a pool forum I have no clue why any of the crap is on the main page, if y'all want to continue this it should be in the not pool related not fix for decent humans forum.

Very well said Mrs. G. I'll try to help you out with the clue as to why any of the crap is on the main page. I already explained 8th grade mentality. There is also bar and what we call 'hoosier' mentality here in Missouri. A hoosier is a term similiar to redneck. This mentality is used when you are verbally/intelligently proved wrong or shown your argument/point has no basis. Then with no other way to defend yourself, you result to fighting. You figure you already lost on trying to beat someone on an intellectual level, you might have even tried the 8th grade level so you might as well give the physical level a try. The hoosier than can be 1-1 or 0-2. In the pool world there aren't too many physical fights.

This mentality is also used by many a bar drinker towards the end of the night. They leave their house (or trailer) hoping to find true love for the night. When every girl in the bar has turned them down on their stupid comments & advances, they turn to look for a fight over the most stupidest reason imaginable. Then the next day they have something to talk about with their buddies that have the same mentality.

I was a bartender for 7 years and saw this on a weekly basis. I quit bartending last February due to having to deal with this mentality & lack of desire to work Saturday nights anymore. You can imagine the frustration of having a good night in tips turn into ruin when you are forced to babysit the lower half of society. I believe the last fight I broke up & got involved in, I put the hoosier in a full nelson, banged his forehead on the bar & told him, I haven't had just a bad day but a bad week and if he would like me to bang his head again I would be happy to.

BTW, I don't look like my avatar either. Those that know me, know what I look like. Those that don't are welcome to say hello at the DCC. I have never fought with 16oz gloves. Honestly didn't know there was such a thing. I have never been in a YMCA either so that might be the reason for my ignorance on the subject of 16 oz gloves. I have fought with a roll of pennies in my fist. I am not sure how much a roll of pennies weighs but know it must hurt more than a 16oz glove. I am also not going to lower myself to challenge/threaten someone on some internet forum. I will say that I am impressed that Timberly wasn't given the same challenge. At least the line is drawn somewhere.
