hi there, how are you??????????????/

Baby you mean me? I know a thing or two about all this.

Actually the problem is just the opposite of what you suggest. People holding on to on values that will never be seen again is the problem and capitulation is the only remedy.

Not gonna argue the point with you...been a member here for over a decade and have seen the market rise and fall...who's hot and who's not...ad nauseum. When it comes to buying and selling historically on AZB, I think myself, along with some others, might just have a better clue.

He would fit in just fine in NPR. LOL!

Ohhh, we'd treat him very well. Give him high fives and send him a welcome basket full of assorted cookies and pool chalks :) Please, oh please, have him stop by one day in NPR? I try to play nice when out in the Main Forum :)

Right..no doubt you are one of the self appointed founding mother's. So why are there no buyers here and only bumpers? Answer: more broke a$$ pool players...how rare.

Or could be possibly be.....too many available cues?! There are a whole lot more cue makers now than there were ten years ago...the market is at a glut. Also, more flippers than there used to be as well. Everyone is out to make a buck for themselves. Add to that that there are a lot more members who have little to no knowledge about what they want or what they are buying, and most certainly about the custom cue market. Alot more production cues available now as well.

As you can see, there are MANY factors for the current state of the W/FS.

Funny thing...almost all of us started out thinking we would NEVER spend X amount of $ for a cue.

seems like the whats for sale section is frequented by flippers most of the time. theres three or four guys who sell high end cues non-stop. they have the funds to buy them and are now raising their prices to make a dollar. nothing wrong with it, but it seems like pool is secondary in the cue market. I think the *99 cues are by that clown billiardsbill, hes the worst offender. either way, I don't blame anyone to try to make a dollar, but I think pool should come first, not money. we all know theres never been real money in this game, the only people who end up in the green seems to be the business side of the game. I forgot to add that the whats for sale section is also a section to bash other people;s failed transactions, goes to show you that the OP is right, people are getting out of control with the anonymity of the web.

It's definitely NOT what it used to be. For the most part, members were respectful of one another. Once upon a time, it was a fairly rare occurrence that a scammer got a member on a cue deal. Most avoided, voluntarily, to make disparaging remarks concerning pricing...but then again, for the most part, pricing was pretty much in line with the market. Sales were easy and plentiful. There were a lot of really great custom cues to be had, at realistic prices. Members were trustworthy, as a whole. There were few cue makers doing actual business here back then...you either acquired from another member, or from a dealer who was brokering certain makers' cues. This was the place to buy, other than the bona fide dealers and eBay. It wasn't perfect...but it was a damn sight better than it is now.

yeah, something is amiss with the WFS/WTT section. maybe one sale or trade per person per week, I'm sure theres a way to fix it, the excessive bumping has been stopped for the most part, but you can't have something self controlled by its users, theres always people who take advantage, as is the case now. definitely needs to be fixed. I see it only getting worst, bc if nothing is done about it, it will continue, and if not enough is done about it, people will just stop trying and won't care anymore. its the human psyche, were not much more complicated than a dog.

I didn't like my break cue so I kept modding it until I decided to sell it, then added the cost of all the mods to the full retail price. It's a beast, honest.

I can't play with my playing cue because it's rubbish, but am looking for 86% of it's retail price because that's fair.

I'm selling them both only because they are great and I love them.

Please add delivery costs and 3% for paypal, just like the retailers do.

Also, I'm looking for some equipment, although I must stress the word CHEAP in the title, as scruples are few and far between these days.

The thing that's 'amiss' with the for sale section is common sense.

Any seller thinking I'm going to forgo the pleasure of defrocking a virgin cue and giving it a good hard chalking for the sake of saving a few sheckles is very much mistaken.

Crazy sellers are the problem. Just because there were mug punters galore during the time of cheap and plentiful money means nothing. What happened in the western world's economy in the 90s & 00s was a statistical blip in our economic history, and anyone drawing conclusions from it, or pining for its return, is a complete fool.

Ebay is for buying, AZB is for selling. This much is clear.

ebay is for buying, AZB is for selling at a marked up price. no??

I bought my cue in an Electronics store.
Can anybody top that?

Got mine at the zoo :) it plays like a beast!...

I remember a lady trying to sell a meucci road agent cue with only one shaft for 995.... So I emailed her and asked if she knew anything about the cue, and how she expects to get that price when the same with two original shafts sells regularly for 350... She said because it's been owned by a lot of cool people and used at a tournament once....some small town tournament, and that it plays like a proffessional cue and everyone who has used it tells her it's worth way more than 1k... now that is an example of nuts.

I see rants like the OP's on craigslist pretty often, about why everything thinks there stuff is worth so much... Notice the everyone else is crazy not me mindset, and usually the better question is why do you think your money is worth more than everyone else's?

I got a fabulous deal on a "Smell-ke" at Moonlight Bunny Ranch.
It was all sticky and wreaked of dead tuna, but cleaned up nice.
The neighborhood Cats still follow me down the street though.

Yes!!

I would love to be able to tell sellers what I think of their crappy products/pricing in their threads. They do it because they can.

I ordered a custom made for me, plan on using it for the next 20 years. problem solved, ill make my money the old fashioned way, hard work. now I just have a bunch of shit I need to sell quick, and CHEAP, any takers :wave3:

I bought a cue in 1987 for $400 and if I were going to sell it now I wouldn't take less than $8000 so I guess according to the OP I'm a crook. It doesn't matter what someone paid for something, it only matters what it's worth to you. If they ask too much don't buy it.

Some guys on here are ****ing ridiculous with your trade demands and asking prices for cues. How dumb do you think people are. I saw one cue sell for $800 and some clown is asking $1199 for it now, (99) like its a supermarket, do people go around your neighborhood with dumb signs on the forehead and now you can get everyone else here. nnother****a please!!!!!!!!!! and yes I do have a 0 itrader, how the **** can I trust these clowns who think they can get someone. Most here are fair, but shit man, it seems like all I like are owned by mongoloids who watched the color of money one to many times.:confused:

Idgaf what anyone says. This post is fn funny!!! And mostly because it's true

I bought a cue for $800 and can't sell it now for $400. Does that make me an anti-crook? Why do I still have no friends? Do I need a sign?
