In a search

on jeweled cues, I found a reference to Lishan cues.
I don't know about them, but their was mention of
an Emerald green cue and pink lizard skin wrap from
South Africa.

Diamonds in cues

Contact Jerry Olivier he has done this type of work. In fact he is building one right now that has about $35,000.00 worth of stones in it.His number is 713-542-7276 or 281-996-8030.---Smitty

Gems

Tony at Blac Boar cues has done some excellent gem-set cues in the past. Of course you'll probably die of old age on the waiting list.

Richard Black has built a few cues with gems. Rhapsody in Blue has diamonds if I am not mistaken, you can see it in the first blue book.

Bill Mcdaniel has made several diamond cues,I saw one at the BCA in Vegas that was absolutely stunning. The cue was a special order and was not for sale. The owner had allowed Bill to put his work on display before taking delivery. I think he has a cue with small diamonds on his website.... www.billmcdaniel.com.

A friend of mine bought a diamond cue from Jerry. It was beautiful. Jerry is an excellent craftman along with so many others in the industry.

In addition to Jerry's cue, Joey Gold mastercraftsman of Cognocenti Cues did a diamond, ruby cue for another friend of mine. If you are interested, PM me and I will give you that info.

Check out Chris Hightower at www.hightowercues.com outstanding work.

if you want to pay high $ for a high end cue, you may as well get a high end cueMAKER, because of the prestige and added value. i don't mean this in any pejorative way, but that eliminates, lishan, hightower, mcdaniel, and olivier. i hate to put mcdaniel there, because he is an excellent cuemaker, but his cues haven't shown to keep their value, imo. not sure about black boar either.

you want to pick a cuemaker whose cues have INTRINSIC value.

Hey "cuejoey",
Thanks for posting link to "HIGHTOWER CUSTOM CUES".
Chris & Israel "Z" Hightower made my custom cue which is
shown on page 10, in the "Cue Gallery" section. Mine is 2nd from the top, the Ebony & Ivory cue.

Chris & "Z" in case you read this post, I would like to have a cue similiar to the 3rd cue shown on page 10.

Hi Lamar, mine is on page 4 the top one.......there are alot of nice cue makers out there ...i just think giving a great artist a chance to make his best is what is nice in life...one of the things i liked about Hightower is the fact that he is a real good pool player himself..so he can advise on the feel and hit of a cue for someone....to anyone out there needing a custom cue i believe that this is a very important quality for the one that will make that special cue for you...good luck to everyone on your game.... :p

I'm pretty sure Ginacue (Ernie) makes cues like that, I've heard about him making cues that cost between $50,000-$100,000.

A little something deluxe...

He doesn't have a website but I can vouch for Todd Elkins of Parrot Cues in Richmond VA. He has done some amazing stuff. If you'd like his number, PM me and I'll get it to you.

Hello Bugsy,

I was the first cuemaker to build a cue for $25,000.00, it was built for none other than Kevin Trudeaux, of the IPT. This was about 13 or 14 yrs ago.

I also was the first cuemaker to build a cue for $100,000.00 about 10 yrs ago, for my close friend, P - Hoods.

The $50,000.00 cue someone mentioned in an above post, was built at Nat Green's shop in Clarksville Tenn. However Nat didn't build it, my son Donald built it while working for Mr. Green.

My son Donald, now is a full partner with me in our shop. As for Jerry Oliver, my son taught him how to build cues and we sold him most of his machinery a few years back.

Please keep in mind, that "ANY CUEMAKER" can build a high dollar cue, buy simlply adding diamonds and rare stones. What comes first is the CUE. Build a solid playable cue, and then the placement of stones or whatever's comes last.
The design, the workmanship, detail, and placement of stones, ect, is very important.

The 100K cue I built, had only 15K worth of stones, lots of Ivory and many hours of work, the 25K cue had only 8k in stones.

It all boils down to the cuemaker working very closely with the customer in designing the cue to be a knock

Another cuemaker a few years back, told he built a cue for $103,000.00, [just to get at me], however the cue was sold for only $40,000.00. So, it was a $40,000.00 cue, period. {BTW, the owner told me what he paid for it, this is not a rumor}.

FUNNY story, a few years back a high-end cuemaker told me and my friend Joey, Gold, I just sold an $8,000.00 cue, to a collector. I told him great, how much did you really sell it for, he looked funny and said, $4,500.00...
I then told him, well you sold a $4,500.00 cue. Oh, no it was $8,000.00, I then said, where's the 3,500.0?...........never got an answer.........Kinda strange to me.

Bugsy,Give me a call, 830-232-5991, am sure we can design and build you something nice and not spend to much doing it.
