High inside spin shot ? TOI by a lot ?

How else do you aim it without allowing for the squirt ?
Some shots from the setup look like I'm cutting it to the other side of the pocket.
Backhand english doesn't work on really inside spin and good speed ( or if you're stuck to the rail ).

If you allow for the squirt, aren't you visualizing the cue ball traveling on a crooked line ? Line of aim is cheated by adjusting to the side of the english ?
Pretend the ghost ball is on the other side ?

You must aim at the same point on the object ball as you're hitting on the cue ball.

You must aim at the same point on the object ball as you're hitting (with your TIP) on the cue ball. This means your are aiming on the "wrong" side of the object ball, however, it "works like a charm". 'The Game is the Teacher'

I bow for CJ´s expertise in this. I can say however I use a lot of inside and when you are familiar with it - "piece of cake":-). I test cues out using the "3 part pocket system" - didn´t have a name for it until CJ come along though. I shoot in different speeds and a "weak cue" imo, will not have a consistent squirt. Big topic of course and a lot more can be said on this subject, won´t go there now.

I guess it´s your table Joey - looks great to have it in the kitchen like that - we poolnerds can sacrifice a lot huh:smile:.

I have never played or tried one of your cues but they seem to have quite a following, looks nice!

Btw, put some muscle in a shot like that and see if you can make the english take on the second rail and perhaps the third - it´s fun. I have a real fun and crazy inside shot - will have a new camera soon and I will show it. "Totally useless" shot but it´s fun and you really need to put a good stroke on it. Come to think about it it´s actually a outside shot, well it´s a shot that has both I guess - you will understand when you see it. If you pm me Joey I can explain it and you can set it up if you would like.

Chrips, first the table is not quite in the kitchen. It's in the room next to it.
Barely fits in there along with a few racks of shaft dowels ( I season the young ones there ). We rarely turn the heater or AC . The wood gets real world experience there.
I am fortunate I have a small group of followers. Some I inherited from my late mentor , Kerry Zeiler.
Qmaking is a great stress to my life. Deflection testing of ferrules .
I like it when the ball goes in on high inside short shots without much compensation .
 
That shot is no problem with CTE and Back Hand English. I use it all the time. Will show you a video of it tomorrow.

I didn't mean "you" were aiming at the wrong side of the object ball. ;) That could be read in other ways than I intended, I meant the system of making these shots is to align to the same place of the object ball as you are hitting on the cue ball.

"Severe Inside, would mean aiming "severe inside" on the object ball on the longer shots. This is a good type shot to really get the hang of how perfectly deflect works to hit different sides of the pocket. It comes up when I have to "force follow" the cue ball around the table with "high/inside". Play Well.

Okies.

My tip on this shot points waaaay inside on the follow.
On really extreme deflection shot, I aim like a full ball to the opposite side. :eek:

Efren won't want a shaft where his bhe doesn't work with his long bridge.
Doesn't like low-def shafts either.

Before he came around and then you, most pros even, avoided using inside english as much as possible, I am told.

Can you elaborate? Just curious on your take on this. If I'm using 2 tips inside, I can't always just aim 2 tips inside on the object ball, that would only send it in one angle from any given position. Are you saying you aim 2 tips inside the "normal" contact point position on the object ball or something else?

No, it's from my TOI Alignment First..... Most shots are aligned "Center to Center" , however, this particular shot is different, it's aligned "Center to Center", then you have to aim the spot you're cuing (the cue ball) to the exact same place on the object ball.....so it moves over from the normal "center position" to where you're "cuing spot" is.

Like many of these pool shots, it's easy to show, and difficult to tell how to do it. A diagram would work better, I just don't use any of those programs.....maybe I'll start sometime soon.

On long shots, yes, on shorter shots, no. The distance makes a difference whether center or edge is your reference point. It also makes a difference on this example shot as well.
