Highest/most friction chalk is?
I tried Magic Chalk, it works well but is there something better?

While there is bad chalk that miscues at moderate tip offsets, I think there is no chalk available that allows you to hit farther from center than good commercial chalk such as Master. When it comes to friction, there appears to be no significant difference between the top brands.

Have you seen Dr. Dave's chalk testing videos on YouTube?

IMO magic chalk is the best chalk in the world, I tested many, maybe the second best for me is predator circle chalk and there’s one EU chalk which has a yellow paper but I don’t know it’s name, that is also good.

I had a box of magic chalk, I bought it from an AZer forgot his name, if you read this msg me I’d like another box, thanks.

Yep, and DR Dave basically says that if you chalk every shot, any commercial chalk will work fine. I think most players chalk every shot as part of their routine-

They have it on Amazon-

I tried that and Blue Diamond, I actually liked the Blue Diamond better. The Magic Chalk seemed to powdery to me.

its called magic chalk because your money will magically appear in someone elses pocket after vanishing from yours.
all decent chalk is the same basically and only costs 30 to 50 cents a cube. but tell that to someone that thinks otherwise.

Dr. Dave, yes.
I have Masters, it's OK but when I have masse's or need extreme English I'll use teammates Blue Diamond Chalk (I misspoke, Magic Chalk).
To me it's a HUGE difference.
Bob. you probably don't go outside the norm for English since you're 'pool seasoning' is far greater than mine.
There's times I'm at least a Silver Dollar outside, but of course I'm adjusting for Squirt to be at least 1 full ball off.

Agreed! Master Chalk for me - but buyer beware- some are selling MASTAR chalk on the internet - it is Chinese not made in U.S.A.-- being advertised as Master chalk - I got burnt for a box of that junk! The pics on the internet are real Master chalk- when you get the box - it will say MASTAR chalk- off color and NOT comparable to the real stuff!

For those interested, objective testing results for most common chalks can be found here, with video evidence:

Enjoy,

I know what chalk I like the best but not everyone agrees with me so I know Darwin's work isn't finished yet.

I wonder if anyone has experimented with mixing chalk brands? If you alternated for example, between Blue Diamond & Magic? (‘sticky’ & ‘gritty’).

I put a layer of Kamui 0.98 on first, then impregnate the tip with it using a TipPik. After 2 rounds of that, I cover the tip with Balabushka as it's also a soft chalk that sticks well. I only chalk once every 3 shots or so and have no issues with dirty cloth or marks on the cue ball.

AHHhhh, I didn't know those videos were available. NOW I KNOW why hits are at times 1 diamond off at table length.
Looks like I'll be cleaning the cueball before my games.

GHOSST...
I do something similar. Past several years I mid-lightly Tip Pick my tip then lightly add chalk so it goes into said holes. I don't go deep since I'm using multi layered tips and don't want to damage the layers bonds. With the chalk cube I'll tap/pack that chalk in said holes. Then I'll do the normal chalking. WHAT A DIFFERENCE it makes in "the hit", to me it's crisper.
Using standard Masters chalk I can go about 3 games without chalking for normal spin hits.
I tried this with someone's Kamui and woah, I average 7 games without chalking.
Mind you, my normal shots almost always have some sort of spin, and at times extreme English.
I'm not RICH, just Hairy, so Kamui chalk is OUT of my purchase range.

I've often wondered WHEN to chalk if using Kaumi (or other chalks that stay on the stick). Do you chalk right before you miscue or right after? Every third time?

Seems to me that could bring up some unknowns.
