Out of curiosity, where can one get historical data (players, genders, countries, results, etc) from major events (Derby, US Open, etc)?

AZB sort of has it, but I'm hoping for a more parsable curated list to allow systematic downstream analyses.

I've tried to compile One Pocket results, and I can tell you that there is definitely no central database for tournament results like what you are describing. The AZB results section comes by far the closest. The AZB results are excellent for relatively recent years, maybe going back as far as 15-20 years. If you want to go back beyond that, I think you have to start researching old pool & billiard print media -- especially the National Billiard News. There is an archive of NBN also right here on AZ in the Gold Mine area. You will need to upgrade to a gold member to access that.

I'm interested in analyzing the historical trends of winnings statistics of European and Asian players in major US events and vice versa for American players who travel abroad.
