Never measured it at 5' 6'' what was the point?

I learned early on the importance of modifying technique to suite a body type, which applies to pool. in my case my power was in my chest and back because of my build.
Because of that II always squatted about 100 pounds less than I deadlifted. My body proportions were not suited to having a big squat. My deadlift training was ssomething that my coach (who as also the vice president of the USPF) was going to write up and submit to one of the trade magazines at the time. It included stiff leg deadlifts off of 8 inch blocks peaking out to triples with 500 lbs. Power cleans, partial movements and shrugs.
