Hello All!

I wanted to post this for 2 reasons:

First and foremost, to wish all of you the very best during this holiday season. Regardless of your religious affiliation and beliefs, I hope that this holiday season is a pleasant one for you and your family.

Secondly, I want to let you know about a new event I have been asked to put on this year. After several successful years of running the VA State 9 Ball Championships, I was approached by Greg Ferguson, General Manager of the Obelisk Billiard Club in Newport News, to run an event at his poolroom. As some of you may know, the game of choice at Obelisk is Straight Pool. As a fan of the game myself I thought it be only fitting to hold the Inaugural VA State Straight Pool Championships at the Obelisk Billiard Club. The flyer for the event is attached. I will bring 2 things to your attention. First, the field is limited to 32 players. I decided to limit the field so that we could finish in 2 days and have long races. That is a true test in straight pool. Finally, the event is to be held the last weekend in February. So signing up as soon as possible will secure your spot.

I hope to see many familiar faces at the VA State Straight Pool Championships and possibly some new faces as well.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Very nice and classy. This is a great pool happening right in my neck of the woods.

For those who haven't been to a tournament in Virginia run by this man, well, you need to experience it just once. You'll be back.

Good Southern cuisine, gentlemen players, sweet charm, and excellent caliber of play. You'll be glad you came!

Bravo to Obelisk for choosing the right man, and thanks for the contribution to pool!

Thanks JAM!

I appreciate that very much!

I have said it once and I will say it again, both of you are missed in VA!

I hope you guys will grace me with your presence this summer with the State 9 Ball!

Merry Christmas JAM and Keither!:smile::smile:

Awesome, Mayor! It is high time for VA.

I'd promise my attendance, but I can only run 14 at a time unfortunately.:o:(:sorry:

Great news to add to the 2010 VA State Straight Pool Championships!‏

Thanks Randy! Wait it gets better!

We have just been informed that the winner of the 2010 Virginia State Straight Pool Championships will have a spot in the 2010 Predator World Straight Pool championships!

With this added bonus we are very excited and expect a full field of participants from around the state. Be sure to get your entry fees in as soon as possible!

Mid January Update

OK Folks. Here's the latest.

We have a confirmed list of around 20 players in the event.

If you have not signed up yet, please do so soon.

Thanks to all those who have signed up already.

See you soon!

Only 10 Spots Left!!!!!!!!!

You read correctly. There are only 10 spots left in the Inaugural VA State 14.1 Championships.

If you have not signed up yet, do so soon!

I'll see you all soon!

T Minus 6 Days and counting...........

OK Guys. It's almost time for the first ever VA State 14.1 Championships!

We are 6 days away and things are well in the works. Here's what we have:

1) The poolroom is in great shape.
2) We have a scoring sheet that will be easy to use. I tried it myself this weekend playing against a friend of mine and after I used it; it was great!
3) The Winner gets to play in the Predator World 14.1 Championships!
4) The player who has the High-Run of the Tournament will receive a very nice Cue & Case donated by former World & US Open Champion Nick Varner.
Thanks Nick!

We are just missing a few things. 6 Players to be exact!

We are 6 Players away from having a full field of 32 players.

If we are short of players, this will affect the prize fund and fewer spots will be paid out.

If you know anyone who enjoys playing 14.1, who is a Virginia resident and has $100, send them my way.

I can't wait to see some old friends and some new faces to one of my State Tournaments.

See you next week!

Is there gonna be any live streaming ?

figure i might as well watch since i am not a resident of VA and i cant play.

Thanks
Steve

No Streaming.

Sorry Steve. We won't have any streaming for this one. I haven't gotten to that point yet. Maybe with one of my other tournaments.

Thanks. Sorry for the delay in answering.
