Hoppe Hercek For Sale

Scrimshawed Hercek

I am going to try and buy it and see if it is a scam. I will use an intermediary for the cue. I have heard he wants $4700 for it.

The seller is Casey on the forum (took me a few minutes to find in between things I am doing).
The cue is shown in this thread as well but it was listed as Hercek $3800.
Never really asked him being I am partial to ebony cues.

There is a Scrimshawed Hercek on cueauctions right now and is listed at $3200.
The same cue was listed on AZ Forum as well.

Nice cue to be had!

But so is the cue that Troy is offering in this thread!

Very strange indeed!!
I believe he wanted 4100 or 4200 for it awhile back. For 3200 I would definately buy it. Even considering I have the twin to it.
We will see. I have a funny feeling about it though.

I'm Not Getting Involved With The Pricing Discussion, But I Just Wanted To Say, That Casey Is As Straight Up As It Gets.

Sebas, If You Want I Will Do The Escrow For You Guys. No Chearge, I Would Just Want One Of You Guys To Send Me Money To Cover Shipping Of The Cue, And Sending Of The Money.

I Think At 3200 It's A Typo, But I Have Seen That One Sell A Few Time For 36-3800 So I Would Say It's In That Range. At 3200 I Would Say It's A Steal.

Let Me Know If You Want Me To Do The Escrow.

Not getting involved in pricing only just pointing to cues that are listed out there.
Both the cue from Troy and Casey were initially listed at a good street price.
I have dealt with Troy - awesome transaction.
I have corresponded with Casey - very nice guy and if the cue is still anywhere between $3200 and $3800 it is a steal.

MYRON, I WASN'T REFERRING TO YOU. IF YOU THOUGHT I WAS, I AM SORRY, I DIDN'T MEAN IT.

I JUST WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT CASEY WAS STRAIGHT UP.

I know Casey, Shoots out of the corner pocket out here. He is a stand up guy. Knowing him, he probably found another cue he just can't say no to so he is trying to move these cues fast to get it.

Never thought that at all.
Just using your line to get on the same team.
There are cues out there and at times are priced at the going street price but then the price may drop to move the cue.
Have seen that a few times!

Okay - now back to the regularly scheduled Hoppe Hercek Cue that is for sale.

Myron

Yup

Casey is straight up! Mustly very high end stuff $10,000 and up is not unusual for him! Vinnib is great to deal with too!!
Nick

Thanks

Usually when I get a Herseck it is to broker for someone else. People just send me stuff and ask me to see what I can do. It is not unusual to get a cue from someone I have never met! I will just get a call and that will be that. I just try to make everyone involved happy and insure like crazy. I can always cover just about anything and treat everything like I am responsable for it and that is because I am.
Also Vinnie that ebayer is famous for doing trades and would probably work a trade with you. If he does or you are willing use someones escrow service-- proficient! I know you have been wanting something like that ivory jointed cue for a little while! Call me first! I might save you a little grief!
Thanks
Nick

I have owned this cue. It plays great and the only reason I sold it was because my name is up on Joel's list in a year or so...
The cue is worth the money!

Hey PunchOut, FYI- Herceks are a touch more collectible than Ariel Carmelis or Bryan Mordts.
IMO of course :D

too bad when your time comes up for the list that its only gonna cost you $1700 for that exact same cue from Hercek. Its a good investment though, his cues are beauties.

btw....if i had the money i would without a doubt buy a Hercek.

Nick, Sebas, Rob,

Here's your opportunity to put your money where your mouth is. Certainly you boys should be climbing all over each other (metaphorically I hope) over this ivory-inlaid Hercek opening at a measly $3,500:

Scott,

If I didn't already have an ivory-inlaid Hercek, I would certainly jump on it. Also, I am in a position where I don't have to pay a premium on a Hercek - My name is up next year!!:D
I can wait... but if I was 8 years out...I would bid away...

ps. Scott, has anyone ever accused you of being cheap?:)

FYI- The cheapest cue Joel offers is 1900 or 2000 new. Plain with no inlays. Thats todays prices. Seven years from now I think they will be a little higher.

Scott,
I believe we said an ivory inlayed and scrimshawed cue. That cue looks nice, but I am not into 59 inch cues. I had the first chance to buy that cue and a little cheaper I might add.
Thanks

Edited to be totally non-confrontational...

Good luck with that sale Troy.

Hercek cue

I already owned that cue and it hits great. But i just put my money where my mouth is and bought a scrimshawed Hercek for $3200. Please find me another. I purchased the above cue the first time for an equivilant of $2950 about 1.5 to 2 years ago and I would estimate its worth in the $3100 to $3500 range. Therefore the owner is not out of line at all. It has a lighter feel to it if I remember correctly. I dont know what the weight was though. If it had been played with by Troy it would make it worth an extra $500 though.

Congrats, if you bought Casey's cue , then that was a nice buy at $3200. I was considering reacquiring it, as well. Work in that cue is real clean and super condition....or at least I'm sure it was a few months back. :D

Regarding the discussion on pricing, with Joel's stuff it's like with Barrys, the ebony ones just bring the more premium $. Most people are after the clean black and white (tuxedo) look, ivory inlays in ebony. Virtually every one of his cues sell on the secondary market for about $1000 (some more) over actual retail. It is crazy, but it's the way it is. Ahhh, to have a crystal ball back in '98-'99 when you could buy these cues for $1200-$1900.....
