I like Canadian power trios better. Does that count??Yep. Our top players are better known there than here.
I played a race to 7 one night with a cue just like that!! Boy, was that ever fun!! Anything but center ball glanced off.I stayed in a hotel in Albany (or maybe it was Buffalo...can't remember) that had an attached bar with one crappy bar box. But there were only two cues, and neither one had a tip.![]()
Did you play on this table? If so, did you rent the room specifically for the pool table? This is a room in the penthouse suite in the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco. Sadly, the table is not up to the quality of the setting.

I was the pool demo guy at a corporate event. I shared the room with a tarot card reader. About half of the rubber on one end rail was detached.Did you play on this table? If so, did you rent the room specifically for the pool table?
So you are saying if I want a high deflection cue that I should peel the tip off??I played a race to 7 one night with a cue just like that!! Boy, was that ever fun!! Anything but center ball glanced off.
I have more questions.I was the pool demo guy at a corporate event. I shared the room with a tarot card reader. About half of the rubber on one end rail was detached.
Professional Thread KillerSeriously???? The LAST thing on my mind booking a hotel is 'does it have a pool table". A decent place to shit-shower-n-shave yes but a pool table? I can honestly say i've never seen such a place. Did stay in one that had a attached bar with a couple shitty Valley's but that's it.
That would do the trick, yes.So you are saying if I want a high deflection cue that I should peel the tip off??
There are companies that arrange corporate "nights out". I think they contacted a supply store and got directed to me. I mostly did challenge games. I had some trick shots ready. There was plenty of room for a table for the tarot card lady.I have more questions.
Finding a tarot card reader seems straight forward. How does a corporate event planner find a pool demo guy? I am curious about the experience. Were you there to encourage games or what sort of role did they have in mind? How did the tarot card reader get sequestered to the pool table?
I was asked to accompany Ronnie O'Sullivan on his trip around the USA. It conflicted with a tournament I was asked to direct. I turned Ronnie down.
