how are ya'll doing in league ?

Wow, that's pretty good. I was just looking at the site. Looks kinda cool with the stats. Had the volume off, so I couldn't quite hear what a few stood for, but I think I got the gist of it. How long have you been playing in that?
Thnx. I actually played only one session, last summer. That ranking hasn't changed since then for some reason. I heard that they send the top player for the session to Vegas for the national singles event. I did well probably cause I was under the impression I might earn that spot but it turned out that it wasn't for that session anyway :p. I honestly rate myself no higher than b+/a-, just tried really hard that session.

Since I am an open player and you are definitely short stop material I'll take 2 on the wire to 5 rack your own barbox 8 ball $250 per set post minimum 4 sets here at Big Dogs on the Diamonds...interested? Please advise as operators are standing by... :D
I'm definitely not a shortstop. B player. May play like A speed 1-2 days of the week.

i played in my napa league today. my opponent won the lag and chose 8 ball. he is an 83 and i am a 54 so its a 5-3 race.

not trying to make an excuse...well a lil bit lol. i gotta start getting there early enough to warm up. he won the 1st 3 in a row before i got in stroke.

i won 1 and he won 1. i won the next 1 to get it hill- hill and broke dry and he run out to win the match.

i got apa double jeapordy tomorrow night. hope i do better than today.

Man, all you guys posting your league results is driving me nutz....

We're in our two week, between session playoff time period. And neither of my teams made playoffs (or Second Chance).

Funny, during last session, I couldn't wait for a break, now I can't wait for the next session to start!

just face it dub. you an addict now just like a lot of us.:grin-square:

First round of Tri-cup was last night, our team crushed it,9-2. I beat a sl5 2-0 in only 6 innings. Probably the best I've ever shot. Probably gonna get raised to a 4 for the second round next week, too lol:grin-square:

Nice job but yeah slightly better than 3 level pool lol :D. My wife is also playing Tri-cup on her ladies team (she's a 4). They lost their first round this morning and are going to play again shortly I believe. I might hit a few while watching football today to get ready for if I play in league on Thursday. I may take the week off since I can't stand the tables at the bar we are supposed to be playing at.

Played another strong SL5 over the weekend two sets. First set was 9-ball, WPA rules, race to 10. He won 10 - 8 (I dogged a few that were easy). Next set was 8-ball, APA rules, race to 10. I won 10 - 4. I'd like to think that my 9-ball game is stronger than my 8-ball game. He had a bunch of lucky outs bumping in other balls, so I can't judge anything by the score. I can say this, my kicking game has improved. Out of around 20 kicks, I hit the ball 90% of the time and made it 20% of the time. So far I'm doing pretty bad, I had that weird hiccup over the past two weeks.

Played an SL4 in 8-ball and lost 3-3. He won 2, I won 3 with two runouts and an 8 on the break. Then I scratched on the 8 in the final game.
Played an SL5 in 9-ball and lost 38-32. Both of us played absolutely horrible and we were joking with each other the entire match. Half way through we both gave up and started banging balls around. There was something like 18-20 dead balls.

i played in my apa double jeapordy last night.

i faced another 5 in 9 ball. 1st rack went ok , him up 6-4. things went down hill for me from there. he broke and ran to the 4 ball which he rattled in the lower right pocket. the cue ball came to a stop near the lower left pocket with the 7 and 9 ball in between them. no way to get to the 4 straight across, i looked at kicking up table and back... nope too many balls in the way. i grabbed my breaker and jumped all the way across table and pocketed the 4 ball allright !! nope the cue ball takes off up table and across to the top left pocket and scratches. WTF ??

next rack he runs the 1 and 2 and plays safe . the cue ball, is down table and the 3 ball is up table with a whole lotta balls in the way in between. i look it over and decide to hit the side rail sending the cue ball up to hit the top rail ..kicking the the 3 which is about 3" off the top rail and if i hit it right it will come down table into the bottom left pocket. i goota hit it a lil hard to send it all the way back down table. well i hit the side rail and it hits the top rail exactly where i want it too. the damn cue goes airborne and hops right over the 3 ball. WTH ?

next rack i am on the 8 which is about 2'' off the right side rail about 1 diamond from the top right pocket. cue ball is about even with the side pocket and its a straihjt in shot. only problem is 9 ball is froze on the bottom rail about 1 diamond from the bottom right pocket. i hit the cue ball with a lil right so to come off the top rail just to the right of the top pocket and come down table to get on the 9. the 8 goes in and the cue ball comes off the top rail and heads directly into the left side pocket. SHIT !!

well this is long enough but just wanna say i had a couple of more bone headed errors and lost the match.

after the match my opponent tells me i made some shots he could not believe and he just could not understand how a couple of my scratches occured. he said i had some bad rolls.he said i made some shots he could never make. i told him to look on the bright side.... he had no problem running out every time i gave him ball in hand. we both started laughing. he said he was impressed that i could jump with a full cue like i did. he said he had never seen anyone in apa do it before. and he said it was unbelievable how that cue ball went all the way up table and scratched. i told him if any body can find a way to fvck up a good shot its me . we both had a good laugh again.

thankfully i did not play 8 ball last night. if i had of and it went like my 9 ball match did i woulda probly snapped my cue in half.

For some reason, the APA decided to bump me down to an SL4 in 8-ball and 9-ball. I lost two in 8-ball so it makes sense, but my first 9-ball match was nearly a blowout and I lost my second by 6 points.

Tuesday (8-ball), our captain put me against the opposing teams strong 3. Race was 3-2, I won 3-0 in 5-6 innings. Wednesday (9-ball), they put me against a SL5 and I beat myself... I dogged the last two 7 times. I broke and ran two racks till I got to the 8/9 and dogged it. My opponent scratched on the break 6 times and I still couldn't get out. Pitiful.

Two weeks? I had to wait 5 or 6 between NAPA sessions AND walk to and from the bar uphill both ways. :)

Had a good start last night. My team won and I won my 9-ball match 4-0. My opponent missed a couple key shots but I had a couple nice outs as well.

Skipped Sunday and Tuesday league to spend a little time with the g/f. Wednesday was masters.. the guy I played is a 7/8, so not too bad. He shot pretty well in 8b and I fell behind 2-3 in what I considered my game. I was able to run a couple in 9b and ended up pulling out the win.

Last night was BCA and we played a team that complained that they were in the wrong flight for playoffs. After looking at the 6 or 8 playoff flights, I saw that just about every flight had a team that had only won a couple of rounds after the first two weeks, so I kind of stopped listening. I lost the first game to a nice runout, but got a couple ero's and a 10-zip and the team easily rolled over them.

I wanted to take a little break with so many league nights, but it seems that both of my regular APA nights have two or three weeks in a row at the beginning against teams that have a 5 or maybe a 6 as they're big gun. I feel a little guilty not wanting to show up for those, but I've got to prioritize.. right? I figure this week I'll show up for 8b in both. At least Tuesday night is at my usual hangout.

Finally got my first win this session in APA 8-ball. Played a recently raised 4 who I usually have a tough time against. Loss-win-loss-win, it wasn't easy or pretty, but it's a win.

A 'W' is a 'W' in my book. We have a bye this Thursday but have 2 makeup matches so I will be doing my coaching thang and hopefully helping a couple of our lower level players play solid matches.

We finally start the new 8-ball session tonight, I am pumped!

And I'm probably not even gonna play tonight, if my plan for the match works out.... I'll get in there next week. Maybe i'll be playing in our 9-ball match on Thursday, I don't captain that team so I don't choose :-)

Just excited to get going again. New additions to both teams, fresh start, better attitudes...gonna be fun.

i played my double jeapordy league sun night. we played on the 9' footers this week. i faced another 5 in 8 ball. he won the 1st rack and i won the next 3 in a row. he then wins the next 3 to win the match.

i played the same person in 9 ball but he is a 4 and i am a 5 in both. he won 31-37.

no excuse from me but he had the advantage due to him playing league 2 nights a week on the 9's where i only play on the 9's twice a session. i put up a pretty good fight though.:grin-square:

Weren't you playing on Friday nights or was that just a playoff thing or something? We don't have Friday leagues around here. Good luck on the new session and new players.

Damn those big tables. I play on them a little more often than that now, but it still shows quite a bit when I haven't been on them in a while. I used to hate them almost as much as Diamonds.

...

I got to play the highest rated member of Team Mullet.. well, that's how half of em looked anyhow. He was shooting well in 9(as a 6) against our player, but his quickfire, hard-hitting ways didn't help him in 8(as a 5). I've also been shooting well and was able to get him 5-0 in 6 innings with 2 TR and a BNR. My game's ramping up for singles regionals next month.

My Sunday team is off next week for a reschedule, so it looks like I'll have to wait for a chance to finally win a 9b match. Other than that, doing just peachy. Here comes the pool days.. 8b tonight, masters tomorrow(against a strong team) and 1 of 2 final BCA playoff nights on Thursday.

Week 3 tonight. Just got done this past weekend with our divisional qualifiers for the states. We lost it in the last rack of the last match in sudden death. Woulda been two sessions in a row going to the states. Oh well. Couple hundred dollars richer anyway.
