glad you enjoyed it. wish i had went but my apa 8 ball ltc was held during the same time.
i really enjoyed going to the last 2 previous nationals. i watched some live streaming and it really made me wish i had went.
i would have been in "b" bracket in 8 ball and 10 ball. "c" bracket in 9 ball. no i am not that bad in 9 ball ...i probably would be dq'ed at nationals in 9 ball.
the reason my handicap is so low is i usually play 9 ball against 80's or higher and lose quite often. my last 3 9 ball matches where i played guys close to my handicap resulted in me shutting them out 3-0.
my opponents captain complained to my lo about my handicap last tue night after i shut out his player 3-0 in 3 innings. my lo told him i am better than my handicap indicates but my handicap is a reflection of my over all losing record.
i guess there is something to be said about apa's handicapping system. its based on your best matches...not your overall win/loss record.
Cannot say I have. For people who play lagger's choice enough to have legit SL's in every game, 9-ball always seems to be the lowest. Personally, I think it has to do with both the slop-factor and the short races. I always feel like the result is a coin flip.
There were a lot of people who qualified for events but didn't have "good" SL's. For example, my first 9-ball match was against a guy who was a 50 in 9 but in the 30s for 8 and 10. I guess he played enough 9-ball to qualify but not enough to get his SL where it should be.
Speaking of NAPA, a 10-ball rule got clarified in a way that I think is ridiculous. In NAPA, if you call a ball and it goes someplace else, the other play gets the option of shooting or giving it back. Well, a guy (not in my match) called safe, hit the one that went one or two rails and fell. His opponent insisted that he gets the play option because the 1-ball was not called. He won the argument and we (my LO and I) were told that if you are playing safe and you want to pocket a ball, you have to announce that you are playing safe and call the ball and pocket.
Have you ever heard of that before?

9.7. SAFETY SHOT
On any shot after the break, for tactical reasons, a shooter may choose to pocket a “called” object ball into its proper pocket and also discontinue his turn at the table by
declaring “safety” in advance. A safety shot is defined as a legal shot. If the shooter intends to play a safety by pocketing a “called” object ball into its proper pocket, then
prior to the shot, he must declare a “safety”, verbally, to his opponent. If this is NOT done, and one of the shooter’s object balls is pocketed, the shooter will be required
to shoot again. Any ball pocketed on a safety shot remains pocketed.
9.6 Safety
The shooter, after the break at anytime may call “safety” which permits him to make contact with the legal object ball without pocketing a ball and end his inning. However, if the shooter pockets the legal object ball the incoming player has the option to play the shot as left, or hand it back to his opponent. (See 9.7 Wrongfully Pocketed Balls which also applies during a safety.)
We were just plain ugly last night. Lost our 8-ball team match, 10-2. Now we are out of at least a tie for first place for the first time in about 20 weeks...
I'm beginning to feel as though a long break from league is coming up next year.
I pretty much do this once every 2-3 years...then I take off a couple of years. I get yelled at by the misses and friends for not going all out to be the best I can be, but life sometimes is what it is. That and I can't stand league drama...I just prefer to try to beat the sht out of people (on the table) and do my thang while also helping coach.
I don't know what I would do if I didn't play league.

went to napa league tonight....won by forfeit.
that keeps me in 1st place in points. really dont want to win the session by a forfeit but i found out the guy in 2nd place has 2 forfeit wins this session so that makes me feel a lil better.
2 weeks to go..hope i maintain my lead.:grin-square: been kinda worried about this guy catching me...he is the 2nd highest ranked player in this division.
his s/ls are
8 ball s/l 99
9 ball s/l 100
10 ball s/l 95
my s/l is
8 ball s/l 60
9 ball s/l 43
10 ball s/l 53
i have shut out my last 3 opponents...he has shut out his last 2 and won by a forfeit.
i won by a forfeit and he lost tonight . that gave me a lil breathing room as he is now 31 points behind me. 2 weeks to go and if i dont choke i will win my 1st ever session after playing 3 years in napa.
now if i can only improve my 20th place in my sat division.:frown: that division is chock full of s/l 90 and above players who it seems like i am always the one to face the other teams best player. i dont mind the challenge but its killing my win %.
speaking of my sat division. any of your teams captain like mine ? he always txt's us on fri and names the 5 players out of the 8 on the team who will be playing on sat.
to me its a double edged sword. on one hand its great to know if you you are not gonna play you don't waste time showing up.
on the other hand you cannot field a competitive team if you dont have certain players available to play certain opponents depending on how the match ups go . . he wonders why our team is down towards the bottom of the division in rankings.
