How did Cliff Joyner fall off the 1-pkt map?

There's a lot to say about how good a player Cliff is in One Pocket. Right now he just hasn't beat any top player for the cash in a while. I'm not sure why but I don't think its related to age. He did develop a severe hitch in his stroke kinda like putters yups in golf. I would say that he'll be back to playing well again if he wants to. But that's a big if?????

While Cliff may never have been considered a top tier rotation player, I do think his 9 and 10 ball games were underrated because of his stellar one pocket play.

Here he is at his best for those of you who haven't seen it before. It's the finals of the 2007 Predator 10 Ball Championship. This match is played at a very high level by both Cliff and some young kid named Van Bo something.

He won the NC nine ball championships one year also

BS. Why wouldn't he want to?

If he could do it, he would.

I can only believe you really don't know or understand how strong Cliff plays one pocket and the knowledge he has with this list you have put together. It is true as of late he has not played up to his speed and seems not to be into it like he used to. That said Silva Ochoa, Mike Davis, Brian Deska, Mika, Shuff, or Dechaine would not be the favorite in a ahead gambling session. The others outside of Alex, Scott Frost, Danny Smith, and Justin Hall would have their hands full and at most are a pick em and would be even money to win or loose.

I am talking about now sir not 15-20 years ago.if it's 20 years ago it would prob be efren only and i do know how great cliff was cause I played him 15 years ago with 10-6 for $1000/game down in mobile alabama...I got the cheese btw

Isn't Cliff 100 year old now?

Seriously though, close to 60?

Every player starts falling off when they hit 45 or so, and then at 55 or so its a much more drastic falloff.

The only reason Efren still plays so strong, is he was about twice as good as every other player. Efren's fall off still puts him in the top tier. Even with Efren though, in another 5 years, I'd bet most shortstops will beat him playing even one pocket.

You can't outrun father time.

His drop-off just seemed so sudden for such a strong one pocket player.

Like he vanished overnight.

Cliff was in Dallas, Tx a couple weeks ago.
He was giving a pretty descent spot to a good player.
They were playing $200-300 per game.
I was gambling on the table next to him.
We all played until close that night.
Cliff seemed healthy and looked the same as usually.
He did book a loser that night.

Anyway, I thought I'd let people know that he still plays at a high level
maybe not as good as his prime but, still very good.

We hung out a little after...and Cliff was super nice and it was fun having a top level player in the pool room.

Karate-

Where in the heck in Dallas is there a place two players can play 1P right next to each other? Oh, there is one place, NW, that has 4 or 5 tables. But they aren't great tables.

That list isn't complete. Cliff has has too many issues right now to be in the top 25.

I am ready to take another shot at you, big boy.

When you in town again?

What are you talking about. You ducked me last time and sent Brandon Shuff over to play me 1P. We played till 5am. I can't tell you how many times I've told that story

Maybe next time BB ducks out, he'll send me instead. That would definitely make up for him sending Shuff last time!

First off, why should we take care of somebody that won't get a job?

Second, we taxpayers give a ton of money to people who REFUSE to get a job. The US does NOT make money, the people do. Therefore we are the ones giving it to them by being robbed by our gov't.

I'm sick of having MY money given to people/countries when I'm in a hotel room 1,000 miles from home most of the year and don't see my family at all. It's called theft and our country steals plenty

You have no idea what you are talking about!
