How did I make this bank?

57:48 if the link doesn't take you there. It looks like the 9 jumped over the CB missing the kiss. I'm not sure if that's what really happened or it's a video artifact. I mean the 9 def jumps, but whether it jumped OVER the CB IDK. Thoughts? I hit the shot with low inside to shorten it as much as I could. The cloth is 1 week old and still sliding.

When I shot it in person I didn't think anything of it. Just a shortened bank. When I saw it at home on video I noticed the 9 jumped.

I would of cue'd it slightly higher transferring more inside to the obj. ball.... also, your striking the colored part of the 9 ball which picks up more chalk and allows whitey a better chance at inducing spin.

9 ball getting slightly airborne when it hit the rail would be my guess. I saw that live and couldn't believe he went for that two rail, Total sell out.

Nice shot! Got a smile out of me when you drilled it.

haha, thanks for watching. Yeah, he's usually fairly smart with the CB. I almost said to him "thanks partner" when I saw it was setting me up for a bank.

Like the 8 ball.... it's more porous, chalk dust clings to it allot faster than a shiny surface.

Ask Dr Dave.... FWIW a black metal hood of a car heats up more than a white car in the sun why?
If I'm wrong so be it, but I've done a slow cut on a ball coming across the contact point of a dark dirty solid colored ball and it will grab, tho not at a high speed. I've missed shots like this by 3'' when I was only 6'' from the side pocket trying to lay whitey on the short rail.

Quick 15 sec edit of the video, with a slow motion overlay and a frame freeze. I don't know if I'm convinced. I believe with the camera angle, if the 9 jumped in front of rather than over the CB, it would look about the same. In either case, I liked the shot, and it helped me win the set:)

I play a lot of my shots at that speed. The nine does elevate just enough to clear the CB on banks like that. Maybe one of the one holers on here that isn't afraid to power bank can chime in.
