I call shots like this one a "going around the neighborhood shot".
Sometimes I will need the cue ball to go all the way forward, then come all the way back up table. Sometimes draw will not work due to blocking balls. Or the cue ball naturally wants to go forward off the shot.
One way to get the cue ball to travel a great distance is speed.
Another way to get the cue ball to travel a great distance is massive amounts of "running english" or spin.
Hit just the cue ball at the rail at an angle and use running english. You can see the spin take effect and actually speed up the cue ball when it hits the rail. So it comes off the rail faster than it first hit the rail. The spin speeds the ball up!
Next try the same shot hitting with the opposite english. (If running english above was 3:00, try 9:00.) Notice how this slows the ball down.
So you can use lots of running english (left 9:00 or right 3:00) to help get the speed up to get the cue ball to travel all the way around the table.
Then you can mix this with draw to get the cue ball to come backwards after contacting the OB, (then spin speeds up the ball when it hits the rail) or mix it with follow (then spin speeds up the ball when it hits the rail).
