Just had my McDaniel cue for sale on here and got a call from a guy that used to be a McD dealer and we struck a deal and he said deal and he would
paypal when he got home..so i marked the cue sold and he called about
10pm eastern time..since he is in California..and said he needed to deposit
money into his paypal account..which we all know is tied to your checking..
said around 1pm eastern time the money would be there..then
calls and says he decided not to follow through cause it didnt make good buisness sense..dahh..he said he done us both a favor..since he could have me send the cue and he could send it back saying it wasn't worth what he paid for it..then within a hour sold the cue for more than i offered it to him for cause we have done a couple of deals recently..does this piss you off like it does me???

Well, it just seems to be the sign of the times

Though it is sad to see, it does happen, and you just gotta live and learn, and move along to the next buyer. Though, if I could buy a cue and sell it within an hour for more money, I would jump on it - just doesn't sound right. That way, you help the seller sell it, and you make money by re-selling it in the process - its a WIN - WIN!!!!
Why can't the buyer do this?

Next time, just change your listing to say "sale pending payment", therefore, people know that it is still available until $$$$ is in your hands.

Of course, if somebody else is interested, I usually give a 24hr time frame to pay, and then offer it to the next person in line for their purchase.

Just can't seem to call it sold, until the money is in your hands, and then it isn't truly a deal until the buyer receives their merchandise, and says it is OK. That way all parties are protected, and satisfied with the deal.

Just really tough times nowadays, and people are getting buyers remorse after sealing a deal.

Good luck on your future deals, and sale of the McDaniel.

BTW - You know everybody is gonna ask - WHO WAS IT?????

This is exactly what I-Trader is for, you need to give him a bad rating, obviously if he is not put in check he will do the same thing to another member.

i agree completely. how does the saying go.....

a man is only as good as his word.

the world was a better place when people actually lived by that.

Yep!!!!

That sounds like the best way to control it, and let it be known to others.

Another atta-boy for Craig!!!

You didn't want to see 50 more threads/posts in the for sale section about people crawfishing out of deals?:p

Forget about it. If you cannot handle tirekickers and guys who do this, don't be a cuedealer. In 15 years, I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to me. What I learned was just never mark anything sold until the deal was completely done.

Amen to that, Brother ... I can't tell you how many deadbeat
buyers I have experienced in the last 15 years of cue dealing.
