I just learned this shot not too long ago and figured I'd share the wealth for those who haven't seen it. After all... it is the holiday season! Happy Holidays!

Where would you shoot the 9-ball and how? No safety... go for the win. There are probably other solutions but I'll post mine soon.

If you aim a little to the left of center and use a stop shot it should double kiss the nine into the side.

I learned this shot from Jerry Ward. It's a high percentage shot that isn't that hard to execute.

I'm with Spidey - as long as the center of the ball is roughly even with or past the point of the pocket (more than 1/2 ball past the point), compressing the cushion works great...
 
I've shot that exact shot dozens of times. Depending on how close it is to the rail, I'd either do the same thing as others have posted, cutting it gently into the side; or, if it's frozen to the rail, cut it and walk it all the down to the top right corner. It's a pretty easy shot to make.
 
This shot is covered in my movie. A firm stroke with draw forces the ball through the point and into the side pocket. It's actually fairly easy. Mika and I did a test and 2/3rds of a ball is possible, but it becomes very low percentage. 1/2 ball is the recommended maximum.
 
Compressing the cushion works great!!

I shoot this with a hard stroke, full in the face, with a lot of draw.

Good input thus far... Any others with a different method?

For those who aren't familiar with this, try it, it's pretty cool. :thumbup2:

You're absolutely right. It is fairly easy. I was quite impressed when first shown this shot. A very good example of "thinking outside the box". :smile:
 
If it's frozen to the point which I think it is from the diagram, cut it in or hit it hard enough to compress the point. On my home table the compressing trick doesn't seem to work very well, but I've done it on others.

If it's behind the point, cut it down the rail(if the points are even). Or play it cross-side. Cross-side is pretty high percentage from here.
