For all you league "players" and players with a USPPA rating over 90 (whatever that is), how do you play this shot?

this is actually very similar to shot 47 in capelle's 99 Critical Shots in Pool. a medium stroke, with 1/2 tip of draw to avoid the scratch.
 
Very close choice between the masse and ordering some food. Then again, if this position actually arose, I'd probably lose my appetite, so I'd probably go with the masse. The cue elevetion angle should by 39 degrees plus or minus one cubic parsec.
 
Don’t know what a league player would do. But I guess an accomplished player may return this situation.

Someone was just taking about that book last night. It is by Ray Martin, not Capelle.

Is it a good book?

Martin's book doesn't have the FL12 shot in it. Capelle's version is devoted only to shots where the balls spell stuff. I don't know how good Martin's book is.
