Sorry

Thats how I play. Sorry!!!! My ol'lady beats me all the time. Those around here don't play me any more. I run out from the 1 to the 8 more than anybody I know. I leave the 9 ball more than any one I know. I can play with any cue, on any table, with the worst chipped balls in the world and still play the same way. SORRY! So if you have been beat by me, you are one sorry azz pool player. That's the sorry truth.

I'm a B on my home table. Get me on a tight Diamond and I'm more like a C.

Hey, I'm still trying to figure out what backhand english and a cut break really is!!!

How does the lettering system compare with the APA player ratings? I'm an APA, 5 in 8 Ball and a 4 in 9 Ball.

How do you get rated in the lettering system?

Pretty sure that would be a C player.

You don't get rated in the letter system. Its just a way to describe your skill. Although, I am sure some venues actually use these letters to rate you /shrug

I think an APA 9-ball SL 4 would be right around a D player. F/Newbie would be the banger 2's and most of the 3's. 4's and 5's are D players. 6's and 7's are C/C+. 8's are B/B+. 9's could be B+ to pro skill level. Highlights one of the major flaws of APA skill levels.

I voted a C player. I have decent patterns, can run 6-7 balls, but choke up on the "key" balls. I avg maybe 2 or 3 Break N Runs a month in league play. On my home table I rarely lose, beginning to think its just a comfort level. As my table is perfectly level, good cloth and kept very clean. Half my league team always jokes that we should take my table to league. C- I would probally say I am. I never was ranked in a tourney using letters only numbers.

Tony Roberto constantly says I'm a Z player.... where is that option?
(he get's a lot of time to do all that shit-talking while he's racking :) )

I'm going to get deep again.... lol I can't help it. :)

There is really no such thing as a B player. The stepping stone from B or B+ to an A player is within their grasps at all times. These so called B players are really A players who's mental focus potential has not been properly harnessed or who have not taken the time and effort to address the ever so slight stabilizing adjustments they need to make in their strokes so they are as accurate as their minds see the shots.

IMO for the very most part, the only thing that separates the two are desire and focus. I believe the skills are well in place.

A couple months ago I would have said C+, but lately I've been seeing some improvement (playing at a level close to "my best game" more consistently), and I'm cautiously calling myself a weak B-, which means B in this poll. The only other player in the B category I've actually played with is Cory in DC, and he's better than me.

I played Cory-in-DC too. He and I are pretty close to the same speed. We're about even in 9-ball. He gets the edge in one hole, and I get the edge in straight pool.

I am very new to the game but I do have a penchant for gambling. I would rate myself as D, maybe D+. If any other Ds, D+s or even Cs and Bs would like to gamble, that would make me very happy. I will also play As for money but no guarantee I can play all day.

Against the girls, strong A, semi-pro, whatever you wanna call it...
I am not sure how I would rate against the boys...I can still run out the same :p

That's a good observation; I agree. At the higher skill level, focus, concentration, and confidence are the key ingredients.
