I play with elks and cut them right down before I put them on. They're too soft for me otherwise. I cut maybe 2/3 of the tip off. Such a waste :-)

I like having less than 2mm of tip at the sides... I dunno why.

You run out of Ki-Techs or just head back to the old standard? Was wondering how the soft was still holding up... We have a few Canadian Snooker players ordering and asking for smaller diameter tips... I may start doing them now that we are starting to get international dealers set up....

There was no poll option for liking shorter or longer tips depending on the tip. For example I like triangles better and better the shorter they get, and snipers are just the opposite where I like them better nearer full height and then less and less the shorter they get. As some have said tips generally appear to compress and get slightly harder through use and as they are getting shorter and there might be a height along the way where they are just the exact hardness that you prefer. Slight chance some of these height preferences could just be in our heads too.

I always use spit to burnish my tips when I put them on...

Well there's that! I'm curious though, why spit on a tip when installing it? Or was it a joke?

I have a little piece of 1.5" dowel that I use to burnish the tip after putting some spit on my finger and letting the lathe spin it around the outside of the tip...IMO, it's the best way to burnish a tip. I work the edge of the dowel back and forth across the side of the tip until it's burnished right.

And I enjoy working on cues .

I think its way cool that your KI Tech tips are working out.
I will have to give some Ki tech tips a try .
Then I can add your tips to my list of tips I like and willing to put a few into inventory.

Nothing like being able to offer the customer a variety great playing tips ,
