How expensive is your daily player

I’ve been looking at all the really expensive cues some of you guys own,
And I am just wondering how many people really play with them.Do most
you guys Just collect them and play with a less expensive cue?
And also if you do play with a really expensive cue every day, what do
You think it is worth and what is it ????

Thanks

I would like to know also, I play with a Schon, but maybe I need a custom cue, however, I love the Schon. So why do I need a $2000 cue. I really don't think it will make me a better player. Or will it?

My Jensen 4 point is my daily player and Jensen J/B. About $1200 for the player and $500 for the J/B. Was really paranoid at the beginning with playing with cues in that price range, but it has become normal now.

I have owned both. I have played with a $2500 cue as my daily player, and I have played with a $175 cue as my daily player.

I will admit, that for me, playing with the more expensive cue, made ME less focused on my game...as I was constantly worried about putting a ding in the butt of the cue, mostly from poor form, like dropping my elbow. However, that is me....there are plenty here that have no problem with playing with a more expensive cue every day.

I am currently playing with an ebony Josey S-03 pete, and am doing very well with it. I think a lot of that has to do with just not thinking about the cue while playing...plus, this cue plays much stiffer than the more expensive cue did, and I seem to do very well with a very stiff cue.

I think that, when you find the right cue for you, no matter if it is production or custom, (I still prefer custom to production), I think the basic playing characteristics stay the same...from there on, it is just ornamentation.

I play with a plain white McDermott that I gave my buddy sixty bucks for. I gotta play with a white stick, because of a dream I once had.

Predator 5K2 with 314 shaft. $600. i recently won a nice stack of cash (from bowling, not pool), and i'm wondering if i should invest the $200 or so and get a z/z2 shaft. any thoughts?

I have a Mottey, worth about $29. I have owned and played with, in chronological order:

Adams, Mali, Viking, Schon (3), Predator, South West (2), and my current Mottey.

Please, share your dream. We would love to hear it.

Full retail is about 1300..... if you are the type who likes to pay full suggested retail prices.

Having played with both 314 and z2 would say it depends on your style of play... with the z2 you can get alot more english with less effort, but if you tend to power thru, you may want to stick with the 314

Well i'm playing right now with a $99 dominiak right now only i had the taper made longer and a moori tip so ad 40 more for that. Before that a custom rich benson with a 314 shaft

Not that much to it, really. I just dreamt that I was in this one bar on league night and someone left behind a white cue. I started shooting with it, shot well, and wanted to keep it.

Some of my friends call me the "White Widow" too, either because of my cue color or because I never get a tan... I'm afraid to ask. ;)

I have an "expensive" omen custom cue and I use it daily. All my other cues have been retired to the home poolroom. Whats the use of having something nice and not using it?
Does it make me a better player, hmmm the jury is still out, but I like it, it hits well and it's purty.

For me, its all about playability. If someone's comfortable with a $50 Players and it matches your style of play, then they got off easy, I say! And if you can afford the custom of your choice and you wanna take a step in that direction and force yourself to whip out your $2000+ cue every time you get to the table, then more power to you...

What does it for me is my Nitti with a Searing shaft. I bought my Nitti used right here on AZ for a little under 6 bucks. Tack on the matching Searing shaft...and the fact that I sold the original shaft recently and recooped that little bit of money...

I'm playing with 3/4 of a grand every day. But I love it, so what's the difference...? It gets the job done for me.

I play with a Josey Custom Cue valued at $10,000.00(7 shafts).
My Josey break/jump is about $1,250.00

Holy Crap! Lol....I'm happy with my lil' 'ol $600 Josey Pete. :) But he does make a pretty sporty playing cue, doesn't he?! :D

I prefer to have the bulk of the money of the cue wrapped up in the joint protectors. That way they are nice and secure in the pocket of my case while I am playing!!

at home a ivory point SW i have been told numerous times its worth 8-10K that cue lives in Vegas and dosent leave the house often. its been to the pool room maybe 6 times in the 7 years i have owned it, i paid about $3800 +/-300 for it, I waited years for it.

In LA i use a G.Szam I bought from a friend with 7 shafts, 2 origonal and 5 gina cue shafts that I gave $5,000 and a watch that I had nothing in but was worth about $5500 wholesale, it was a great deal for both of us, i never wore the watch, and it didnt cost me a penny.

If im travelling a Joss E. I paid $250 for, I used one for years so making the adjustment of any of these 3 cues take an hour or two at the most.

I own a pile of cues and do hit balls with 90% of them from time to time. but nothing serious. all cues are to be played with from time to time or they are just pices of wood, I have one G.Szam that I like the best but its too rare to take to the pool room, it couldnt be replaced.
