How expensive is your daily player

For the past 3.5 years, a 60" Dave Jones custom that I designed and paid $1300, currently being re-finished by Davy.

For a couple of weeks during the re-finish job, a new 60" ebony Bob Frey SP that cost me $415.

And for the past week (and while shooting the best pool in my life), a 60" Bill Dominiak unwrapped curly maple WD1020 that hits a ton... and it only cost me $129.

$200 Joss JC-24 with Universal Smart Shaft. At least that's what I paid for it.

$1400 Webb in the works.

I'll end up rotating between the two depending on where I am.

Replica Balabushka by Adam about $800.00.. my favorite is my Hightower custom about $4,000.00..

I play with a sixteen point Tucker custom. It came with two shafts, ivory ferrules and abalone diamond inlays. I have no idea what Murray Tucker III would charge for such a cue (I won it in a raffle on ASP/RSB that was put together by Jimbo). I have been offered as much as $1700 for it and I have turned all offers down. I have no intention of ever parting with it.

I play with a plain white McDermott that I gave my buddy sixty bucks for. I gotta play with a white stick, because of a dream I once had.
Did it involve a guide dog and you missing balls completely on the wrong table? Thanks. I was that bloke on the other table. You owe me for the drinks you spilled.

That's the last time I wake up in someone else's dream.

$12,000 Black Boar-- I know, it's crazy- but It's crazy NOT to use a cue with all of that billiard engineering. It plays like god.

$150 Dominiak.

Before that it was a $50 Minnesota Fats thing. That is destined to become my break cue once I get a case I can carry them both in!

I’ve been looking at all the really expensive cues some of you guys own,
And I am just wondering how many people really play with them.Do most
you guys Just collect them and play with a less expensive cue?
And also if you do play with a really expensive cue every day, what do
You think it is worth and what is it ????

Thanks

mine is a sugartree sneaky...may be priceless

I have a whole bunch of cues. I like to play with my Scruggs $5000 or my Schick $6500 or my Diveney $2500, mostly the Diveney though.

I use Carter Cues

Carter 4-point cocbolo into BEM-$375 (bought used with 2 shafts) Solid Cocobolo Chad Carter break cue with 2 shafts $375 (bought new) and a $25 Lucasi jump cue bought used on this forum. All of which I love. So, they're priceless to me. I've got a tulipwood into ebony 8-point on order with Carter and a 4-point coco into BEM Nitti on order. My next cues will be a 6-point nitti and 4-point Ted Harris.

Hi ive played with a lot of cues high $ low $. But i find that a good mc dermott with some shaft taper done and a good tip will work. I let some of the more advance players shot it and thay tell me it playes as good or better. but the guy that dose my shafts was trained by bloodworth and has been doing my shaft work for years.
Thanks Rvan:) :)

These (4 sub $200 customs, McDermott Peak, and a Schmelke) all have seen daily playing time,
but the $77 M10 Schmelke (bottom) is my favorite.

Schuler (18.5oz-18.6oz) with 2 shafts worth about $700 with stacked leather wrap. I play the best with this cue. It has so much feel giving awesome feedback. This cue could make Angry White play good. On second thought it may not be that good.

Also, just purchased a Schon STL6 $600(wanted 18.6oz. but did not get it. Won't do business with those guys anymore-around 20oz) with custom shaft cut to 12.5mm.

Also, use a Fury J/B. $120.

$350 Varney SP. Have a KaoFa on the way at about the same price. Then I'll be confused.

Nope. Sorry, only one table in that joint. But I'll keep my eye out for your culprit.

One of a kind Scruggs...

My main playing cue is my one of a kind, custom Tim Scruggs cue. Was just told two weeks ago that it is now worth $3500.00. Break cue is also Scruggs sneaky, got mine just before they stopped making them, seen them go for $500.00 or more.
