how good are jacoby cues?

I've played with one for the last year and I think it is a very nice cue, especially for the money. I'll echo the statements of others that the hit is pretty solid/stiff, but there's still good feedback there. There is a good amount of deflection, but with the solid/dense wood in the shafts I think this is to be expected. Just FYI, I have an Ebony 4 pointer with an SS joint.
 
Jacoby has a new line, a "D" series of cues. Doesn't even have all them ready to sell yet.... Still being made and finishing them up...I was thinking about one he has in the D line which is Purple Heart and Tiger Maple with no wrap. A 3/8 x 10 pin and phenolic joint..
Never owned a Jacoby either...How do you think that cue would hit in comparsion to his SS joint cues????
 
Great cue

We have sold Jacoby cues for about 4 years now. They are the best cue people to deal with in terms of honesty and backing up their products. I own 3 custom one of a kind Jacobys myself. I think dollar for dollar you can never go wrong with a Jacoby.
 
I have been selling Jacoby's for a year now. Every customer has had nothing but good things to say. Jacoby Custom Cues is a family owned business by David and his son Brandon. They are great people to deal with. Dollar for dollar they are the best value in the market today. You will not go wrong in a Jacoby purchase.
 
My first stainless steel joint cue is a Jacoby, it has a signature on it...so I think it's a custom. It is a good solid hitting cue with a hard Moori tip. The cue is forward balanced, almost 21 inches from the butt cap. The butt/handle is small diameter compared to my Schon. Customer service was good. You can't go wrong with a Jacoby!

depends what you want though, if you want an investment sure to go up in value, you want something else. if you want custom cue quality at a production price, get a jacoby.

they have to be great cues. they sponsor my brother and even made me a real sweet looking one for my none playing ass
 
I am guessing that Jacoby cues were fairly new in the mid-90's. I remember that when Santos first came to California, him and a few others were sponsored by Jacoby, or at least they sold cues for him as far as I knew. My friend Norbert tried to sell me this brand new Jacoby then, which had a pin made out of some strong plastic material (I forget the name right now). Well I wanted the cue really badly because it looked so cool, but I had to wait a little bit to come up with the money. So I finally had the money, and when I found Norbert he told me he had just sold it to someone else for a higher price. Well low and behold, the person who bought it decided to break with it, and the pin and join shatter. I believe that was the first and last cue Jacoby made with that type of joint/pin. (The pin was kind of white/grey in color, and it was somewhat see-thru...phenolic resin or something like that.)
 
This thread got me curious because so many people said what a great deal they are so I went out and looked at their website. It seemed to me the prices for what I consider a semi-custom cue were just kind of standard prices, nothing I would consider a great deal for the money. Even if they "hit great" like many people seem to say, that is what I would expect from a cue at that price.
