How hard is this?

Last night i was playing pool with my girlfriend at the bar. We were playing on a 7 foot table. Usually when we play i give her some sort of spot, like playing one handed, left handed, running my balls in order, 'banks, kicks, caroms and combos ONLY', etc... Anyways this time i gave her the I'll run my balls in order, and anytime i fail to make contact on the lowest ball of my group its a foul. She can slop anything. So this is what happened:
I break, don't make a ball.
She pockets a hanger (solid) over the side, then misses a shot to the corner.
I Run OUT, shooting 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,8. All consecutive.

How hard is that? I was thrilled thinking its about 20 times harder than a normal 9 ball runnout since there is 6 blockers. I had to break out balls, its was a 7 footer making everything really small and tight position, plus i had to do some shots i didn't know i was capable of. Like crazy reverse siding, curving force follow through a small gap, etc...

How tough do you guys think it is? Has anyone else here ever made this spot and ran out?

I make this spot all the time, and it usually results in a long game where i never get a decent chance to run out. I didn't think i could ever successfully navigate through 6 blockers and run 8 balls.

I've gotten pretty excited over this and now i have a new goal that I'm gonna start trying. BREAK AND RUN A RACK OF ROTATION!! Does anyone here have a good rack for rotation? I mean order of balls, to make it the easiest? Rotation is a tough enough game, so I'll need a decent layout, and the rack the same every time. Any advise for the 1 in the side break and how to get on the 2? Any rules like ' If you rack the 2 on the right corner break from the left' or anything like that? I need all the help i can get here, but IM GONNA DO IT!!

Last stupid question: Is it possible for a B player to run a rack of rotation? Just thinking, if i do this, will that be my final step to becoming an A player? hehe i know i annoy you guys with this B/A thing, but i think I've found a goal here, that if i accomplish, i would be assured that i was an A player.

Don't take my word for it, because I'm not yet an accomplished rotation player, although I'm better than most players at my level, because no one else plays it. I don't think believe it's neccessary, although very self rewarding, to run an entire rack to win a game of rotation. Remember, there's over 100 points in a rack, and you only need 61 to win.

Nice run, by the way.

Depends on how the balls were set up. If they were all in the pockets or no clusters or anything like should be fairly easy. However if you had to break out clusters and other shots that are considered hard then it was hard!! But either way good job!

As for your run out. Nice Job.

I have played that way alot and have made the out many times but its tough.
You just have to ask yourself how tough was it. Even if it was an easier out you still had to focus and make the shots.

As for the rotation thing.....I have ran a few racks of rotation but they are few and far between. I can remember only a few in detail and one was fairly lucky with easy combos and layouts while another was very tough.

Dont get hung up in the A or B rating thing. Just figure out how to win with your game and make progress. The toughest matches are not against
the guys that have a high gear but rather the guys that dont force anything and make it tough to get going. Those are always a grind.

I lost a match once 9-2 to a very good player. I was a little embarassed.
My buddy ended up talking to him afterwards. I walked by and he asked my buddy if he knew me. He said yes and why. The guys said I was the toughest 9-2 he had ever played. I knew I was making him work but I lacked
the confidence. I was feeling pretty good when my buddy told me.

Wow!

That is exceptional, especially since most of her balls were on the table!

(I suppose she was pissed?...)

FX,
It's a nice accomplishment no matter how the balls are spread. It is about the only way I ever play 8 ball (playing with beginning players), and I probably runout once every 5 or 10 racks (on 9 foot table). As other posters say (like all stupid rotation games), it all depends on the layout, some 8 ball rotation runouts are simple, other times running 2 or 3 is a much greater accomplishment.

Running eight balls in a predesignated order when there are fifteen balls on the table is difficult. For a strong player, it's no thtat much easier than running an entire rack of rotation.

I'll take a stab at it and say that this is three times more difficult than running a rack of nine ball.

And did I forget to say "nice shooting?"
