How Intricate Can You Get?

I have an idea in mind regarding my next matching set cue design but for what I have in mind I'm not sure it can be pulled off so here's my question:

Where the points, veneers & inlays are concerned is there a limit to the type of design that can be used or within reason can you let your imagination go?

the only limiting factor will be your budget and the choices of those who can actually execute the design

It has to look right to the eye....... it has to flow easily from one design to another and from front to rear.............

In my opinion, less is more............ a cue that is just packed with inlays just for the sake of stuffing it full of inlays..............

is 10 pounds of shit in a 2 pound bag

LOL. Just tell us how you really feel about it. I would buy a cue from you because of this post alone.

It's been my experience that those who knock the fancy stuff either don't know how or just plain can't execute it....

I think it's all of the above. I greatly admire the skill set required to do intricate inlays at the same time finding them to not add to the beauty of the cue. And subtract from it in excess.

I don't wear jewelry or a wrist watch and I think it's related. I never liked gaudy cues long before I ever considered what was involved with making them. I am a wood lover, period.

Fortunately in the words of Ted the used car salesman, there's an ass for every seat.

While I appreciate the effort and ability that went into those designs...... I do not ridicule them or the maker............ that may be your style............

I have the ability but that is just not my style and I will not make cues that look like that............
