What is your best guess how long it will take Scott or Shane to get to 50 tonight? Would 4 hours seem about right? Johnnyt

4-5 would be my guess...depends on if it starts on time, breaks in between etc. Should be a good show.

Race to fifty? if the final is 50 - 0 which I kinda doubt... would take just hair over 4 hours. At 5 minutes per game average. Some defensive battles and then some quick 9 on the break and some quick combos.

50-40 for 90 games total at an average of 5 minutes a game with a couple of 30 minute breaks would be closer to 8+ hours.

I would guess around 5 hours.

5-6 min is normal per rack when playing on a 9ft, small races. This is a 7ft and long race, so the players will get more loose and perhaps play a little faster.

Another interesting question is, what's the line on amount of racks on day 1?

over/under 90? anyone have a suggestion?

I will make a small wager that it doesnt take 8 plus hours.. I will take the under for a hundred.. =) Umm when they get in a groove and find their break 10 15 games will go by in 10 20 mins tops.. This is bartable 9 ball.. and they both shoot at a steady pace..

Did I just commit a booboo?
It isn't a race to 50 the first night?
But just a total of 50 games to be played, right?

The score could be 26-24 or 48-2.. but only 50 games.... if this is the case, and they average FOUR minuts a game, that is just around 3.5 hours, unless there are player breaks allowed.

I just can't think straight when I am trying to post and also complete some word here in the office.... Sorry...RoberDuke.. no bet...

It's first player to win 50 games on first day. So, score could be 50-42 or so.

thanks that makes much more sense to me now.

So there could possibly be 99 games today... with a score 50-49
So if the games average 3-4 minutes.. times 99 games that would take about 4:50 on the low side and 6:40 on the high side (not counting players breaks

On the very low side (say the score is 50-0) 3-4 minutes a game would be 2.30 hours on the low end (3 minutes a game)
3.30 hours on the high end (4 minutes a game)

so 4+ hours would be a very good guess IMO. Crude statistics for sure, but we are just guessing any way... right?

Average games of 9-ball played in an hour, for me 20

In all my years of playing 9-ball on a bar box, my opponent and I have averaged about 20 games an hour.

Tonights play with SVB/Frost, barring any slow play, and if the match is real close, should last about 5 hours, give or take 30 minutes.IMO

All I can tell you is that match is waaay too long for the amount they bet. The whole match should have been one Race To Fifty. Maybe they both felt like they needed the practice.

This match is a MARATHON! The last man standing will win. And his name will be SVB!

Bet

What's the bet? Race to 150, gluttons for punishment, I say. Shoot, I used to race to 11 for a thousand, 15 for 2 thousand. Shane takes this one all the way...

By the way, 2 players of their caliber should average 3-3.5 minutes a game (including racking time).

They're playing Ten Ball, which is a slightly longer game. I'm guessing more like 4-5 minutes per game. I think the full bet is $2,500 a man, 5K total. Shane may or may not be betting another 2.5K on the side.

There are playing 9-ball. Johnnyt
