How long would you wait?

Well thanks to all that have replied on the issue and wished me good luck. I'm about as impatient as they come when it involves things I've purchased. All messages go through ebay and to the sellers email for whoever asked if I did that. I usually pay immediately following close of auction if feedback is respectful and never had a problem. I sent my final email regarding the cue stating this will be the final email before action is taken. Just answer the email!! If something is wrong tell me I'm easy to get along with. Hopefully my next post here will be I've had contact or better yet somehow the cue shows up at my door. Thanks everyone for the help and advice!!

Ha! funny you should mention this so I went and checked them out again and a new positive feedback was given on June 25th and stated great communication, which gives them 43 total. However on the latest feedback the item closed May 26th, so it's either extremely slow or I got hosed. I emailed the recent buyer that left a feedback to see if they are just really slow at shipping. Still there's no excuse to not answer 3 mails just checking about shipping status.

When you purchase something at the end of the auction you are given the sellers information that contains their phone number. Call the person. Enough said.

Edited to add:

All this time and no contact with the seller why would you not call them????

I'd get out of the deal NOW. Whether you are getting screwed or not that's just too long and it's just not acceptable. I'd do everything I could to get out of the deal TODAY.... right now.

Ebay has procedures where the buyer and seller are to email each other within 48 hours after an auction is over, besides Ebay also notifies each by email about the results of the auction.

Why did you Paypal for the cue without any correspondence with the seller to begin with? I would never do that.
Good post...When I buy something on ebay I don't pay anything until I receive an invoice from the seller...EDIT: I always request an invoice...

Kane,

File a Paypal dispute, if the guy won't communicate. They will freeze his account immediately. That will at least get his attention. He will have to let Paypal (and you) know what is going on. You can then mutually release the claim, if all is well. Best of luck with it.

I don't know... how long did it take you to get that Carmeli when you bought it? :D

Two weeks with some feedback wouldn't be unreasonable, but the fact that he's gone more than a few days even without communicating is unacceptable. I guess it's up to you how bad you want the cue. I'd file a dispute and get my money back...

Good luck Kane.

I'm curious how many auctions did he have and maintain 100%. At any rate, not returning emails IMO is a definite indication of a problem.

Not returning emails is not necessarily a problem like you might think. From time to time, we all chance service providers and that sometimes requires us to utilize a new email address or sometimes when we upgrade our software, our email programs will often send some of our email into a SPAM folder that we don't even look at it.

There are plenty of other reasons but before making defamatory remarks, I might make inquiring remarks and I don't think 14 days is too soon to do so but I have bought only one item off of ebay.

Thanks for the advice Joe... I'm going to do that if the stick isn't here on Saturday.

45 days is the time limit for a paypal dispute.

I generally do not leave feedback for a while. You have, I believe, 90 days to do so.

I sell on ebay and at one point was called for major surgery. It left me in the hospital for 14 days and away from home (Out of town for recovery) for over 3 months.

I was able to access a computer after about 3 weeks, but, of course, I had some negative feedback due to lack of response to email and not shipping product.

Ebay guidelines give sellers, I believe I read, a full week to ship an item to be within the "general acceptance"

If a transaction is not completed in a month, (I think that is too long) it is definately time to file a report.

Keep in mind that Parcel Post mailing takes up to 14 days and often times longer!

Cues require an oversized package which is more expensive to mail, depending on the seller, they are trying to make money on shipping and shipped it parcel. :)

Update!!

Well after contacting paypal it turns out the seller didn't want to sell the cue for the price I bought it for and was playing the ol' ignore and I'll go away. I guess they didn't know what a reserve price was. So in the long run I guess I'll be finally receiving my cue, maybe some dead fish with it too:eek: , since they are going to ship it express mail now. I can only imagine the cue is just being thrown in the box with a little tape and sent on it's way. Hopefully I'll have a cue soon!!
