Does one normally take to go shoot some stick ?

I'm not a big gambler persay but I usually carry little more than my ATM card , always being a stone throw from a machine.

But ,

I'm shooting around the other night after league and some young girl comes over and wants to play some. So we do. (No gutter minds please ;)) She's not a bad player but I'm not at all worried either way , it's just a seemingly casual knock around. So eventually she wants to play for $$. I tell her I don't have cash on me but if it's going to be worth my while , I'll go pull some out. She looks at me like I'm crazy for not have my pockets loaded and ready throw down. About 2 mins after that she breaks down her cue and says I gotta go.

I guess a have to keep a few grand on me at all time now?

WTF ?

It all depends on where you are and what you are looking for.

I will say this though, I never tell anyone how much I have on me and always keep arranged so I don't flash it.

There is not a sicker feeling in the world than being robbed at gunpoint.

Yes, it has happened to me.

I think you misread her...
She came over to you and asked to play. You were both enjoying the time... "just a seemingly casual knock around."
I think she then wanted to play for a "little money" (as many do to keep them focused and in the game).
Your statement that,"...if its going to be worth my while, I'll go pull some out."... turned her right OFF!

You sounded like you weren't interested in playing unless it was for some "real CASH", or it wasn't going to be worth your while....

Suddenly, you weren't the friendly guy you were earlier and she gave you that "wtf kind of guy are you?... we were having a nice time... and now you want to rob me... adios...

Yup, and you ended up going home with nothing more than Palmela Handerson to keep you company. Good Job.

LMAO! We've all been there.. :(

In any case, I never bring more than $40 to a poolhall at any time.. but that's just me.

I typically have a few hundred on me... You don't need a lot to make a lot.

A good night was walking in with $60 and walking out with $800+.....

Those usually cost you a hell of a lot more unless you find the "disposable" model....

cash

I tend to have upwards of 500 hundred on me at most times and my GLOCK 27 also  :D . The rest of my crew will have another 500 or so.

Well I didn't say it exactly like that , I wasn't mean or rude about it but it does cost $2 to pull cash out of that machine so I'm not going to play for a $1 a game. :) I was mostly trying to figure out what we were talking about.

As for Palmala , my wife probably wouldn't appreciate that. She likes to be involved in picking out anything I bring home. :)

Noticed you made custom markers? I use to be very big into paintball.

500 hundred huh? If I were you I wouldn't broadcast the fact that you usually have over $50,000 on you. :p :D

Personally, I quit carrying any more tha $100 in cash anywhere i go... Seems like everywhere has and ATM or takes debit cards these days.... Much safer that way..

i keep my $$$ in the car, if I have any with me. 90% of the time I dont.

I dont wear any jewelery in the pool room, we did back in the 80's. but that fad is over, I dont like to wear a watch when I play so thats at home too.

I dont have an ATM card. If I know I'm gonna be in $100 action I have enough in the car and I play people I know so we dont post, in 22 years I have only been stiffed once for $110, not bad.

If I had a bigger games like I did years ago(and will when I'm ok to play big again) I would post my half up with the roomowner/manager and let them put in in the back office, and settle up after the game and tip out the houseman. I have done that lots of times in the past, I tip the guys at the counter $20 everytime I go tothe pool room, its a great investment and the right thing to do.

one night about 6 months after Rude Dog (john Morton)an I were running around to all the bar tournments in Vegas-that he was winning, I didnt play in them except once, Walter Glass schooled me real good. One of the bars on Spring Mountain(2 blocks east of Decarure on the north side of the street) called Marker Down (dont know if its still there) got robbed, we played there a bunch of times. A few guys came in with guns during a tournment and had everyone get down on the floor, and they were shaking everyone down one by one. Some well known player I cant remember his name-It would be familiar like Matlock(it WAS NOT him), but a big name bar player had $6,000 on him when he got down on the floor he was under the table and took his bank roll and put it in the ball return or somewhere under the box and hid it, so when they came over and took his $$$ he had a small roll, the big one was out of sight. The robbers left everyone was OK, then he busted out the $$$, i was told he was laughing-probably nervious energy. That story hit the pool rooms in Vegas in 15 minutes, the next day eveeryone was talking about what a good move it was. Thinking on your feet is strong. I wish I could remember who it was-no doubt in my mind about the name of the bar and the year was 92 i think. Cool story and 100% true.

I havent payed attention to the news in Vegas for years, but for a while in the earily 90's take over robbeeries of bars was common in Vegas because of the video poker machines they all kept a $5,000 bank depending on what machines they had-its a Nv State Gaming Regulation, just cash by the til in a seperate bax, it was there for the taking in alot of bars. Nowdays since they put bill validators the quarters and banks have changed and I would guess the robberies are down. thankfully I was never around when one happened.

i'm not picking on you, and I agree with you 100% it is safer but, I dont like the paper trail, i pay all my taxes etc. But I just dont like electronic $$$ for action or other things, I dont like who ever knowing where I was how much $$$ I took out etc. I like cash and being annomious. but thats just me,

happy turkey day.

Business wise ? Pure termoil right now , has been for the last couple years. Big companies buying everyone out , patents and lawsuits all over , governing bodies (Tournys) fighting with each other. It's quite a mess.

I've worked for many of the biggest in the biz from WDP,AGD,WGP,BE,VL,JT,Tippman and more. I now only stick to my custom stuff and small scale part production. Right now I'm trying to take a brek from that for a little while.
