How Much$ Do You Bring to PHall?

I used to always carry a couple hundred any time I went to a room...But the funny thing is some of my best scores came with only a couple of bucks in my pocket...You can have good piece of mind with a nice chunk in your pocket..But not having much in your pocket sure can motivate you to win and save the embarassment of not being able to pay:D

Then never gamble what you don't have.

Words to live by...but what I am saying is on several occasions when i did'nt have the cash in pocket ( + I am always good for it)...Maybe 30 or 40 bucks I actually played better..then knowing I could afford to lose a set or 2....Fear motivates...

Good point. Makes you work harder if you know that if you lose you'll be needing to hit the ATM.

Always a warm fuzzy when you make someone take the ‘Walk of Shame” to the ATM

I live in an action starved city, but I never leave the house to go out period without 3 hundred or so. I just don't like to be caught without funds. Plus when I go out I spend at least forty to 80 on drinks and such........ I know, I know, what a lush......lol

For $20 and only one game, you may only be entitled to a tiny spot and that would be like if I have a very small spot of lint on the table just prior to breaking. ... Shades of Johnny Archer :-) BTW, what would make you think you wouldn't have a chance with me for one single game. Anyone can sometimes win ONE single game against another opponent.

Joey,
I'd like to play you too, but I'd have a better chance of, flushing the $20 down the toilette, then going to the treatment plant and finding it. Are you going to give me a spot? ;)

Kiss, I too play better when I have a case of the shorts. Unfortunately, at the DCC I will be a PHAT ALBERT look-alike what with all of the money I made as an insurance adjuster this recent storm. :D

Personally, it depends, Most of the time, i maybe bring 20-30$ if i dont want to gamble. if i want to gramble i bring about 100$ and play for nothing more than 20$ a set.

Most of the time i play like i have no money on me, which keeps the savages away who want to play for all your money, in one set.

Getting robbed and stabbed has got to be the sickest feeling in the world."

> That was actually in Nashville,at the Waffle House on Gallatin Road right around the corner from JOB's. It was on the news too,33,000 cash, and had to explain how they came to have that much without an IRS slip to prove it. It was an inside job too,the guy that did it called Tony by name. I never heard that they got stabbed, just robbed at gunpoint. Me personally,I take whatever I can spare to a pool room, which might not be a lot at times, but whoever it is I play can get it ALL. Tommy D.

It was Nashville, I stand corrected. I saw it on the news as well and the detective who investigated. He sounded like he wasn't going for it.
The one who got shot and stabbed, was me.

i only bring 5 bucks with me when i go to the poolhall. enough to cover my food expenses. this tactic has helped me mentally because i really have to play my A game everytime someone wants to play me or else i'll be lying unconscious in the parking lot or spending a few nights in jail. i don't recommend using this tactic though for B players and below.

It's not how much money you take to the pool room; it's how much money you take home from the pool room that counts.

Anyone can lose.

Even OHB, it seems, from his post.

5 bucks? Where can you eat, drink, tip and play pool for 5 bucks?

No wonder pool halls are closing.

i live in manila, so the prices are cheaper and 5 bucks is actually a decent amount. 5 bucks is enough for an appetizer, a steak dinner, and a soda.

Tracy, I couldn't find your original post about "grandstanding" to reply to but I assure you I don't do that. It's not my style. As to your speed of play, I don't know what that is because I don't think I have ever seen you play or played you even one game.

For one game of one pocket and $20, I would play any pool player in the world. I figure even if I get whacked severely, I will have a story to tell to my grandchildren which I am too young to have just yet.

Sorry about replying on your post, Gerry. I think the "knock" you heard was the thud from Tracy's head hitting a brick wall, asking me for a spot for a single game of one pocket with me. ;-)
