What is te best way to put a bumper on this Balicini?

You could always drill and tap that weight bolt and attach a bumper with a cap screw.

That isn't the original bolt is it?

That was my first thought. Drill and tap.

Would be nice to get a nice new butt cap put on there to go with the new bumper though...Ryan would fix it up I bet.

EDIT: Aren't those McDermott cues? Have you asked McDermott about it?

I think to preserve the originality of this cue, you should replace the bumper in the same way the original was installed. I can see by the photo that the original bumper was attached to the cue by a small bit of what is obviously strawberry flavored Big League Chew bubble gum. I would recognize those early formulations of Red #40 food coloring anywhere.

Using grape flavored Big League Chew might work, but I think the "purists" would notice the difference and this would inevitably lower the value of the cue.

before anything

i would clean out that hole and see if there is a hole drilled in the weight bolt, if not drill and tap or just glue in another like that one was

Thanks,
Yes it is a McDermott product, they did not want to refinish it for me, said they did not have a procedure. I wish I could look at another Balicini to see if they had bumpers. I love the idea of a butt cap because the stick needs some design element to brake up the uniformity of the construction.
I will work on getting the weight bolt out, that should kill an hour in front of the TV, I have hemostats,(shut up), and a crochet hook but might need some dental instruments.
I could use my chop saw and cut one of my wife's meatballs in half and go the double bubble route, it would bounce nicely.

From and old AZ thread, it seems to be an old D series bumper.

If the set-screw (wght.blt) that's in there now is a 3/8x16 thread,
set it a little deeper into the hole. This will allow you to use a
threaded-stem bumper of the same thread.
No muss, no fuss, no drill & tap.

The set screw moves freely. The color is modeling clay, ew. It seems to be 3/8x 16, shall I get one from Schmelke?

Give me a call, i'm sure i have a bumper or two around that would work. I'll even give it to you for nothing.
