How to gamble at the DCC

I can give you quite a few names on here that know me, but they are friends of mine so what good is that? Not to mention, that I really do not know your speed either. Maybe we can just side bet on some matches.

Southpaw

Alright you played that well. We will play a race to 7 9ball even for $100 winner pays for table time and one round of drinks at DCC or US Open if you want it send me a pm. If not we will defenitely bet on some matches.

"Malarkeys" (Tournament director) will confirm that I've only won their weekly 9 ball tourney once and can't beat the Rauls, Don Wortemens sp?, Eddie Carridos sp?, and Eddie Matayas on my best day.

I'm just a league player who has been a 6 for over 2 years now. Raul is probably one of Washington's best known players and he gives me the 7, 8, 9 wild and I've only won 1 set out of about 7

My main goal here is to make friends without going broke.

Just make a post and call me out... I'll find it.

Tell you what - let me know where you usually play... or we can just do something at Manwon's in Lakewood - who can vouch for both of us...

Sounds good. I've played at Full Splice several times. Nice place.

BTW, good luck but I doubt you get any action. I am an APA 5 and I posted for two weeks in advance of DCC and only got one taker, I won $5. This is not a knock to the one player who gave me action as we only had time for one game.

I'll play, on the box, 8 or 9. We're both APA 5s.
Oct in Va?

Did you give her a spot?
I'll play if we can come up with a fair spot. APA 5.
8 or 9 on the box.

Will be in VA in Oct hopefully.

What ever the spot when a 5 and a 6 play in the apa is what we can play. Maybe one set 8 ball and another 9 ball.

A TAP 6 here is about an APA 7.

Unfortunatly the APA goes on a ball count system for nine ball but for 8 ball it would be a 5-3 race for a 7-5 handicap.

We could come to a fair spot. Its all good in the hood! *haha*

Lol this whole thread seems familiar. It's like that new guy that just walked into a new room. Everyone is eager to try him out and he's paranoid about getting hustled. He's already told the world just how he plays and he appears very insecure. My advice, keep it cheap until you get a better feel for the room.

You nailed it. That's me. I'm always insecure when looking for action. I always think I'm getting the worst of it because I know in my head that I'm going to be 100% honest and seeing as many moves as I have I don't trust others so much. Posting up isn't enough. I can't trust guys not to admit to fouls etc. That's why I like to keep it fairly cheap. I want to be able to say,

"Fine. You need that $100 more than I do. Keep shooting."

I wouldn't be so okay with saying that over $1000

The thing I like about AZers is that these guys have reputations to keep on here. They certainly aren't going to steal the post money off the light while I'm in the bathroom or something.

Can anyone vouch for Southpaw here? OMG perhaps?

I have watched Southpaw play, bet on him and bet against him.

I believe he would be an 8 in the APA. I would give good odds that any APA 9 I know would beat him.

In some cases, a convenient lack of consistancy. My previous summary of skill levels between leagues was based on 8 ball.

I was talking about honest 5s, people who genuinely try their hardest each and every time they shoot.

How to Gamble at The DCC:
1. Bring $$
2. Stand up on a chair (table?) and scream "DOES ANYBODY WANT TO GAMBLE?!"
3. ???
4. Profit.

That's how I'd do it :)

You're missing that third step. I guess it's the unimportant part.

That would be an interesting match between Luxury and Roscoe (Chicken & Waffles)... I did beat Roscoe at VF, so an even game could be close.

Winner gets dinner.

No IHOP. ;)

Here is an idea:

Since I'm convinced you are the better player we will play at my venue of choice on my table of choice. Race to 7 8ball for $50 then race to 7 9ball for $50 if we break even then we settle it Fatboy style. Race to 7 coin flips for the whole $100

I'm convinced you're a better player than me, so let's do this -

Race to 9 for $100 (3 sets regardless) at Criag's on his 9' Gold Crown. I've only played there once before...

If you'd rather it be at a different location, that's fine, as long as it's a 9'. I don't play 8 ball, and flipping coins is kinda gay, actually.

I went on and on about wanting to gamble to make friends at the DCC. I'm getting a bad vibe so I respectfully decline. I have plenty of good friends that are a phone call away that I play for $100 a set so I will call them when I get the desire for action.

What I think is fun you think is "gay" so that is totally understandable and there is absolutely nothing wrong with your opinion. We are just not a good fit to match up IMO.

I started this thread so I could try to gamble and make friends at the DCC and I've got matches lined up and friends to be made so I'm satisfied.

No hard feelings and I'm sure you had the nuts.
