A group of us played 9b doubles the other night with a 5 second or bih rule. Drinking , hollering, sharking throughout.Speed pool, 5 second timer after the balls come to rest
Its best to publicly support Sky Sports aka Matchroom and Predator.
sky sports isn't matchroom. you're right that the world is rapidly moving away from cable TV though, and that trend isn't reversing
Good. Go do that and leave us alone. The most valued users already expressed ESPN is a bad investment for the sport.
Alternative options to keep interest in billiards is to make it a official sanctioned sport at the high school or college level.
ESPN does not have the reach it does like pre high speed internet. Podcasts and social media interactions have a direct impact that ESPN does not.
Matchroom and Predator are investing huge amounts into pool. Its best to publicly support Sky Sports aka Matchroom and Predator. Publicly be active on their social media, metrics and customer interaction matter.
I saw Agassi play McEnroe a couple of weeks ago on ESPN. So yup..Pickleball will be on ESPN before pool.
They could air one pocket late at night for insomniacs to get some sleep. As a long term expectation....pool is not a spectator sport.
Clearly over confident.Good idea.
This has been pointed out multiple times by multiple people over the years, yet people on this forum keep lamenting about pool on ESPN. Especially when referring to any niche programming like cornhole, etc. ESPN isn't going out looking to contact whatever cornhole association there is about their tournaments. Those organizations are talking to ESPN and then they get a price, sell sponsorships, and then they get "on TV".All you have to do is pay for it. Back when the WPBA did it for their Classic Tour for 15 years, they had to pay for their own production that had to meet ESPN specs and sell commercial time and hire editors. Back then, production costs were about $40,000 per event, which was 4 hours of air time.
Your right Eddie
Hearn is quoted as going all in with DAZN over skysports. Thanks for the correction.
