How to get Pool on ESPN

It's simple business.

Unless you are a pool player it's incredibly boring to watch.

If no one is watching ESPN does not generate revenue.

ESPN= show me the money.

The most valued users already expressed ESPN is a bad investment for the sport.

Alternative options to keep interest in billiards is to make it a official sanctioned sport at the high school or college level.

ESPN does not have the reach it does like pre high speed internet. Podcasts and social media interactions have a direct impact that ESPN does not.

Matchroom and Predator are investing huge amounts into pool. Its best to publicly support Sky Sports aka Matchroom and Predator. Publicly be active on their social media, metrics and customer interaction matter.

CORNHOLE moved ahead of pool. I have no interest in watching Bull Riding. Even BOWLING losing viewership.
Now it's DRONE RACING and Video Games Competition.

Unfortunately, Pool has always been associated as a Back Room hustle. Negative... IT'S GOING TO BE DIFFICULT TO MAKE MAINSTREAM.
It's a shame the TOP PLAYERS in the world only make $200K a year.

30 Years ago, CAMEL Sponsored a Tour but quickly FAILED.

I think justnum (above) and Zerksies (above) has it right.

I saw a game on espn on sunday where the server hit a ball about the size of a volleyball with her head
onto a ping pong like table then they used there knees ,feet, head and kind of played ping pong on the beach, girls in bikinis.

Good. Go do that and leave us alone.

All you have to do is pay for it. Back when the WPBA did it for their Classic Tour for 15 years, they had to pay for their own production that had to meet ESPN specs and sell commercial time and hire editors. Back then, production costs were about $40,000 per event, which was 4 hours of air time.

Matchroom is developing non sanctioned WPA events and WPA sanctioned events. This is a blessing for pool players that do not want certain pros in events. The two tier player system ensures Matchroom events will have an expanded pool player base to recruit upcoming talent for the sanctioned events.

Predator is doing an amazing job ensuring young pool players have a chance to compete on the big stage.

Matchroom and Predator are the companies that work for pool players. ESPN never did what Matchroom or Predator have a long history of.

ESPN customer base does not provide advantages to the pool community. Exposure on network stations has potential to expand the pool base. Like many have already stated exposure doesn't translate into fans, viewers or new pool players.

As for DAZN if MR hopes to achieve threshold success, then they have a 5 year contract to meet it. The sooner the better. Start complaining about DAZN so they can plan future developments.

This has been pointed out multiple times by multiple people over the years, yet people on this forum keep lamenting about pool on ESPN. Especially when referring to any niche programming like cornhole, etc. ESPN isn't going out looking to contact whatever cornhole association there is about their tournaments. Those organizations are talking to ESPN and then they get a price, sell sponsorships, and then they get "on TV".
