How to keep your newly covered table like new

Don't worry The Simonis can handle it!

A POOL table is made to be played on. It ain't furniture it's a fine piece of billiard equipment. I take pride in the fact that my Gold Crown gets plenty of play, and that a fair amount of cash changes hands in my livingroom every week. I brush it, quick kleen it, and keep the balls nice and clean. I have the 860HR, and have had it since September. Those cueball marks don't hurt anything. They just show that YOU PLAY A LOT OF POOL, that is nothing to be ashamed of! If you have to replace your Simonis because of wear it means you got your money out of it, and had plenty of fun. Putting a piece of cloth under the cue ball is silly. It's like the people who insist that you take your shoes off when you come in their house, or cover their furniture in plastic. I don't see the pros carrying around a 2x2 piece of Simonis. If you must keep your table in pristine condition don't play on it; play at the pool hall, and when company comes over you can show them how nice and new your table looks.

Getting HR next time doesn't do you much good right now, LOL

Skip the brush and vacuum the cloth once a week followed by a wipedown with a damp micro-fiber cloth.

I think Dartman has the best advice for you about cleaning the table. He is very knowledgeable about Simonis as well, since he sells it. The break cloth will help if you break from the same spot over and over and over. I have seen a 9 iron divot worn into 860 in about 2 months from some strong breakers. A dollar bill would work just as well too.

If you use baby powder make sure it has no corn starch or any other filers most do. Anything abrasive is bad for the table.. no sanpaper no import brushes most are made of polyesteror plastic bristle horse hair ones are okay but could cause were faster. Just stick to wiping it down with a damp cloth not soaking wet you dont want to wet the wood or it will swell, expand or shrink could change the level. vacumm it weekly or monthly depending on play. no sharp edges on hte vacum only a non rotateing head whith bristles on it sharp edges are bad.

Ball polishers all work okay but not great Diamond I feel has the best designed one and it truely works. I have owned bluds, porpers and a few others they all polish on an axis never fully rotating 360deg x 360deg you have to reach in and flip the balls to get them to polish all sides. I sold my Dimond to a friend opening a poolhall so i will be ordering another or just build my own but it does polish and clean every spot on the ball. They are also adaptables for all sizes of balls , snooker, 3 cushion, pool heck you can even polish your golf balls with it.
