I am wondering what characteristics there are that can help discern between ox bone vs. elephant ivory antique billiard balls.
Any help is appreciated.

Ox bone seems to be the go to code word on Ebay for Ivory.
Prices seem to have dropped on ivory balls too.
Now, Cuebuddy, the one on the left in your avatar. Is that elephanturnip?
I feel like a silly ass for not knowing about this whole "ox bone" code word thing on ebay. I've been looking at these balls thinking geez, they look like ivory to me - how do you tell them apart. Hence this thread.
And yes, Fred, I guess the missing marrow should have been a good hint. lol! :embarrassed2:
I knew I shoulda spent more time in school instead of sneaking off to Sam's Pool Hall.
