An older gentleman walked into the shop, and said in July of 2000. I brought a Mucci Origonal 2-shafts ( Tomohawk , or Knife style cue in for tip replacements) is it still around ?? He just bought an old billiard table and remembered he had brought his cue to Doc's in 2000. I guess he had need for a cue now. The cue was in the back room drawer!! Yet. I wish to commend Keith( Owner of Doc's Bohemian Cues) in Minnesota. For showing just how important your reputation really is( in these troubled times!! He is currently making Kanaka Creek Custom cues. I will get around to posting pictures . 763-786-2662, and 763- 786-5823. everybody has free long distance these days. Could a few just call and thank him for going the extra mile for the customer- he really does. or simply respond here and I will print off the comments! thanks in advance mark

Just curious. If the owner left it and didn't return, did the cuemaker make any attempts to contact him at the time when it was done? Kinda strange scenario, but he sure sounds like a real standup guy. I know many who might have sold it on eBay to cover their repair expenses. 11 years is a long time to store a cue for someone else. Wonder what the guy would have expected from him if he couldn't produce it after that long?

I have the same situation here. A fellow left a very nice 2-shafted Zeiler (sp?) cue with me 3-4 years ago (maybe even longer) for new tips and shafts cleaned. I failed to get a phone number from him as he was supposed to pick it back up within a couple of days. I never heard from him again and I'm still holding the cue. I've never known what to do with it. From a legal standpoint, I think the cue now belongs to me. From an ethical standpoint, I'm just not sure.

I now get phone numbers from EVERYONE leaving cues for repairs.

typically ownership transfers after ninety days...

In most places and most cases ownership transfers after ninety days of possession if attempts are made to return an item and it isn't picked up.

If you don't have contact information most of the time placing an ad in the paper will suffice.

Keep the cue tucked away. It doesn't take up much space.

About that Roger - I've mean meaning to get back with you about my cue. You see, I moved and I also lost your number. Well, I'm glad to hear you still have my cue. If you wouldn't mind shipping it to me I would greatly appreciate it. If I remember correctly I already paid for the repairs. So you just ship me the cue and we will call it even.

PM for my address ;)

Placing an ad in the paper would suffice as far as legalisms go, but it would probably do nothing to actually help find the original owner. Unfortunately, it seems that no one reads newspapers anymore (including me). :(

If you know of any cuemakers who subscribe to this notion, please let us know who they may be, so we can avoid them.

Bob Frey is my cuemaker, and I can't think of anyone
more trust worthy.

The Origonal Owner - never left a ph nomber .-

and after 411 attempts( Keith and doc found zilch ) . And The owner seemed to fall off the map. All ended well. (Truly in the long run!!!) I think there are lots of very honest business men, cue makers with a cue or 2 in the drawers. mark thanks in advance for posts.
