how would you hit this shot?

Agreed. And if you send the cue ball towards the jaws of the top left corner pocket you have a shot at a corner hook, you could be well on your way to a three foul win.
How why are you thinking of 3 fouling a guy in 8 ball when it appears to be the only ball on table ? We know it is "your out ball ".

Hey gang.
Yes, it was ridiculous.
Kodiak was talking about a safety which I assume was a joke. I ran the joke to it’s logical extremity.
I understand tone doesn’t come across well online. I just wasn’t expecting anyone to take the suggestion of playing for a corner hook followed by ducking with ball in hand on the money ball seriously.
Unless you two are both joking as well and I’m a level behind you!

I like the cut of your jib. If the rails are reasonably lively a very crisp hit with a half tip of low right might stiff it back for a 6 railer in the top left corner.

Are you really going to bank the money ball?

I thought you were serious.
Whew that's better you are right sometimes jokes don't come across well on line.

Hitting it easy leaves a greater chance of it hanging if you miss it. Shoot money balls harder more often than not in hopes of a favorable roll if it doesnt go in.

See my disclaimer.

8-ball is your out ball- shooting in the bottom righthand corner pocket...
ChalkySticks has a problem in that the balls are not the right size for a 9-foot table. Here is what the shot looks like to me in Virtual Pool where the table is drawn to the correct scale. The shot is shown for a simple follow shot without any side spin. I'm pretty sure I got the balls in the right location, but there is no perfectly right location since the original drawing is not to scale.

There is no scratch on this shot. However, if the cue ball is light -- and most cue balls in pool rooms are light from wear -- there is a chance for a scratch. Here is the shot with outside draw. This is how you have to shoot the shot if the equipment is unknown or sketchy.

You haven't seen me play it. :) I can scratch on anything.

Dr. Dave's 30 degree rule only works for me when I slow roll to ball. Between the initial bounce along the tangent line, the cue ball not picking up a full roll, and the error of referencing the center of the object ball instead of the ghost ball, 45 degrees is usually a good estimate.
