how would you play this 9 ball rack from the given cueball position? curious what people come up with.

That looks like the best option to me, the come up the table for the 7 in the side and the 8 in the corner with follow for shape on the nine.CaptainJR said:Not an easy 456. Shouldn't be much trouble if you get to the 6. I'm going to come across table off the 4 and play the longer shot cutting the 5. Going two rails for position on the 6.

Shoot the rest as everyone pretty much suggested, but I would not shoot the 8 in the corner until I inspected my angle on the 7. I would prefer to shoot the 8 in the side (more margin for shape) than shooting it in the corner. Like I said, it would all depend on the angle of the 7 ball shot.
BillYards said:I am not scared either... I would use low left on the 4, shooting the "Z" shot, coming between the 7 and 8, bouncing off the top long rail and get position on the 5 on the LEFT (9 ball) side... then I would use draw to flatten the angle off of the 5 to come downtable (above the 7 and 8) landing behind the 6 for the easy out.

Trying to get between the 7 and 8 is suicide.BillYards said:I am not scared either... I was thinking I'd want to shoot the 5 from the area you referenced as well. The 5 is the only crucial shapre the needs to be...Jimmy M. said:...I'm a loser with too much time on my hands ...It turns out that there is actually more room on a real pool table to work with than what it looks like in the diagram... I'd play it like this...(by the way - I know that some people like just cinching it and taking a longer shot on the 5,...
