I have to get something off of my chest.

There is a thread that was started yesterday by Mike M who, in honor of his 1000th post, generously offered to share the winnings (should he win) of a powerball ticket he bought that is scheduled to be drawn tonight. All anyone had to do to be included was to respond on his thread.

Of course, this ticket will not be the big winner, but it was a nice gesture, nevertheless.

There were 165 responses to his thread, including mine, at the time of this writing.

Another thread was started by Daves Cue Repair on June 5th and has had only 4 responses in over one week, three of which were by Dave, himself.

The subject of that thread is to do with Dave trying to set up a benefit for himself with the help of Hillbilly Charlie Bryant and some others.

Dave is apparently sick with cancer and is reaching out to the az community, thus far, with poor results.

I wonder, are our priorities that poorly placed?

And, to be clear, I'm guilty of it myself. :(

What do you all think?

Best,
Brian kc

I think here(az) and other places ,that things just happen to get over looked from time to time with out any spite,i can honestly say i dont recall seeing that thread(daves cue repairs)on here and i thought i didnt miss anything here, just goes to show you what can easly be over looked from time to time!

I get what you're saying and it's probably true. However Dave made an earlier post about the benefit that had a couple pages of responses and some who sent him a donation because they could not make the benefit: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=232760&highlight=Dave's+Repair.

The second post was just to inform those interested that the time and venue changed. Maybe that's why the low amount of responses.

Dave

Thanks Dave, that makes a little more sense to me. But still, I find it's a real head-scratcher.

In the 2 pages of that thread, there were 5 kind azers who responded; all the remaining posts were again, from Dave.

I hope no one takes my raising this issue, the wrong way.

I simply feel it's an interesting study in human nature, that's all.

And, oh yeah, I was a little embarrassed with myself. :o

Best,

Funny that I asked Mr. Wilson to makes Dave's original thread into a sticky
for the time being and it didn't happen, yet the mods have the time to read and delete threads Willy Nilly.
