Hybrid Snooker Cues?

That's right. You do in fact get less feel but tell that to Earl...and all the guys who put a tennis wrap around their cues in order to get LESS feel from it. That's what I think I read somewhere is the main reason Earl started using those tennis wraps; less feel.
I played with a Hohmann Lucasi Hybrid a few days ago and although it felt significantly different from the custom cue I was using at the time I really loved that sports grip at the back.
But then again, I have a very light grip and use wrapless.
I would like to see more of the custom cue makers offer sports wrap as an option.
Felt excellent. The cue it self was not that exciting but the wrap was awesome.
Also really liked how the wrap went all the way back.
I can't stand those linen, and leather wrapped cues that come short about 6 to 8 inches from the back.

I put a squash racket wrap on one of my cues. As you can imagine, not much feel with such a setup. Nice grip though. Also grips of this kind is not commonly used for snooker. Most snooker players are traditionalists, preferring hand spliced cues with conical tapers, and brass ferrules. Gives a very firm hit, with lots of feedback, though the ash cues typically feel a bit softer than maple. The bumper at the bottom of the cue is typically absent as well (or at least small) so that the hit is loud and firm.
I've tried the pictured cue (for pool) and I didn't like it. I'm not a fan of Lucasi cues in general and this one was no exception. I can't put my finger on it but the balance and feel of these cues just seem a bit "off" to me.
