Hypnosis CD by AZ Member "edd"

Mind/Body Pool is a GREAT hypnosis CD. It was designed by a professional psychotherapist who happens to also play pool.

While it has been a few years since I have used self-hypnosis, I use it to relax and also to gain a competitive edge against my opponents while playing pool.

MANY years ago I purchased some self-hypnosis cassette tapes by a Ryan Elliott as I recall but those have long since disappeared from my library.

Just before hurricane Katrina I had some self-hypnosis CD's which were custom designed by a "sports psychologist" from Hawaii. Hurricane Katrina got those as well as many other things.

I have been listening to Ed's Self Hypnosis CD for the past few weeks. I was telling my son about the CD because he has a very high pressure job and I was getting great relaxation from Ed's CD. The CD is divided into two parts, one is the relaxation part and the latter portion is the pool imagery portion.

Sometimes when I listen to the CD, I actually drift off into a deep sleep, almost unaware of the CD and Ed's professional voice. ( I'm not sure that I am supposed to fall asleep that deeply.) :o

Sometimes I stay awake the whole time but in a deep relaxed state.

EVERY SINGLE time that I listen to the CD, when I awake, it is almost like I took a 3 hour nap. It is that refreshing.

For those of you who have never tried hypnosis and would like a way to take some of the stress out of your day and your life, I strongly suggest you give it a try. It is the second best way to relax.

Ed's Self-Hypnosis CD is only $17 and it includes shipping. You can order it by PMing AZ Billiards member "edd".

It's a pretty good cd. I listened yesterday and got relaxed and tried to pay attention to the imaging part.

Can't hurt.

i just ordered mine. i will review my performance after using it for a month. i'm just guessing that hypnosis would be difficult to actually review the cd itself. my best guess is to review at least a month of performance. then maybe quarterly or yearly. edd, one question would be, if you believe that self hypnosis has any time frame to permanently being engrained (for lack of a better word) into your mind. for instance, if you uses it everyday for a year, would that cause a permanent behavioral change?

Excellent question.

I've always heard that it takes 30 days to break or make a habit.

Can't wait to hear what Ed has to say about it.

Since pool is a "mental" sport, focus and visualization are key compoments to successful outcomes. Consistent use of the CD, or employing meditation practices, etc. will build those "muscles", if you will. The body does have a molecular memory! There is a lot of fascinating research via the genome project on neuroplasticity and gene expression, that is showing that our genes are not static, which use to be the prevailing thought. This has significant implications for new learning and the power of our thoughts and mood to shape our behavior and overall health. Much the same as circadian rhythms, we also have ultradian rhythms. Capitalizing on these natural forces underlies the significant benefits that integrative medicine "brings to the table." I hope I'm not digressing too much, but the bottom-line is that any enterprise that increases our focus, and ability to relax (which, in and of itself, counteracts stress hormones) is extremely important for our mental well-being, overall functioning and performance enhancement.
Good luck and thanks for obtaining the CD. I am always available to answer any questions.

Hi there Joey,

I just ordered the CD. I had one that I used that was pretty good but it got wrecked in my travels. From your description I'm sure this one will be just as good if not better.

You can never over prepare your mind. I never heard of anyone ever pulling a brain muscle????

Right on top of it again,at the right time........ Thanks Joey................
